A very lengthy and satisfying epilogue fic. Nothing is instantly different here and everyone has their problems, which makes it all the better that it’s basically a happy ending for everyone that feels like it’s come to them finally after much working on life. Main focus is Daniel/Betty but plenty of others feature as you’d expect.

Ugly Betty & the apocalypse

I’ve been rewatching Ugly Betty lately. Especially good since my health has been sucktastic and it’s a light hearted show I already know, so easy watching. Despite how over the top and generally morally bankrupt a number of characters are I feel like they do a good job of making everyone still likable in various ways. I can’t help but still like Wilhelmina for her dedication to her career, even if she’s usually too far over into ruthless with it, and that she does still have some sense of deceny that is shown at times. I overall want Wilhelmina to be happy, just like pretty much every character on the show. I recently just sat there after an episode thinking about lyrics in a song that was over a montage, ‘big fish in a little pond’, about how focused they all are on what is a relatively small aspect of the world at large (though yes, a big industry). And then wondering what Wilhelmina would be like during a zombie apocalypse. That I really do hope to read at some point.

Really well done exploration of the idea + generally recommend this author as they also did a great S5 AU for the show.
