Purpleyin's slightly fannish tumblr

@purpleyin / purpleyin.tumblr.com

Hi, I'm Hans (they/them). Spoonie. Demi-bi & polyam. Waves from the UK. I write fanfic, create moodboards, other graphics, fanmixes and on occasion fanvids. I like a good rec, tend to multiship and love decent character/case/team/gen stuffs too. Fannish about so many fandoms.

I really love Unfuck Your Habitat. Not just the book - although that I would recommend and was very helpful for getting better at having less anxiety about not being able to clean everything due to being ill - but the FB group too for asking for advice.

Got a neat suggestion over there for using different coloured cloth bags as a flexible way to organise different foods in a chest freezer. Hoping to find some cheap but largeish bags of various colours in town later in the week to have a go at that. Would be nice to actually be sure where roughly stuff is in that cavernous hole of a freezer.

WOW so i knew an utter jackass once for like four days before i cut contact who (cw aphobia and rape/rape fantasies mention) went off saying all the ace women he knew (weren't really ace because they) had rape fantasies, and that's been knocking around in my head for a while and i just pulled up the wikipedia page on my secret garden and apparently rape fantasies are a normal thing that some women just /have/ and I'm just so fucking oddly relieved and amazed that i had to tell someone

My Secret Garden is a book by Nancy Friday which compiled a book of women’s sexual fantasies in the 1970’s. It’s available here; if you can’t afford it, DM me for a PDF.

I really encourage everyone to read it, mostly because it’s shocking how many parallels there are between the fantasies of women from almost 50 years ago (and since plenty of older women contributed, in all it stretches back almost 100 years) and today.

Yeah, rape fantasies feature heavily and in various forms: force, humiliation, guilt, abdicating responsibility, all kinds of stuff. There was also a frankly startling amount of bestiality (there’s an entire chapter on dogs, I, ??????????) incest, exhibitionism, and at least one omorashi fetishist before that whole concept came over from Japan.

I didn’t read every fantasy start to finish, the book’s pretty good about hinting at what you’re in for during the introductions to the fantasy. Still, the sheer variety, the running themes of sexualizing fear and guilt and shame, and also the fact that one of the constants of fantasies is knotting, of all things, made this super worth reading.

If you’re fascinated by sexuality and smut, if you’ve ever judged people for their sexual fantasies, or most of all if on some level you’re still worried, deep down, that your fantasies are abnormal and they do make you a freak, please read this book.

Review of the book Zeus Grants Stupid Wishes by Cody O’Brien.

The story of Hephaestus god of Blacksmithing and Aphrodite Goddess of Love.

The story of the Minotaur.

NORSE MYTHOLOGY

Odin orders Loki to steal Freyja’s necklace. He does. This is so in character for both of them Freyja instantly knows who to blame.

EGYPTIAN MYTHOLOGY

How Isis retrieves her huband’s coffin from the support pillar it got stuck inside.

MAYAN MYTHOLOGY

How to try and kill the god Zipacna and fail.

CHRISTIANITY MYTHOLOGY

How God made Eve from Adam’s rib.

The story of how King Solomon judges proper maternal instinct.

HINDU MYTHOLOGY

Men ask Shiva to stop Kali’s murder rampage.

And this is how he does it.

JAPANESE MYTHOLOGY

The Goddess Izanami gives birth to the whole island of Japan.

A story about Tanuki.

AFRICAN MYTHOLOGY

NATIVE AMERICAN MYTHOLOGY

Do I really need to explain why I feel the Merc with a mouth was involved in the retelling here?

Sounds like Drunk History.
