The Sequel(s) of CALL ME BY YOUR NAME | TIFF 2018
Like Aciman said, I think the movie does just fine without those 20 extra years, simply because of the ending scene where Elio is crying in front of the fireplace. The expressions he makes reflecting what is going through his mind really capture the ideas that the ending section of the book conveys. Like, I see how through the tears and the smile at the end of the movie that Elio is a changed person who will hold Oliver dear to his heart always, but will be able to move through in life like the book details. It's a simple and yet super effective scene.
And I would very much look forward to a sequel, so long as the talented Timothée is in it. He brings Elio to life.
TIMMY NEEDS HIS OSCAR BC THE BOI ACTED THROUGH THOSE CREDITS!! Lmao I loved Call Me By Your Name and this was a hilarious and great little video.
