fanfic writer appreciation day! (aug 21st)
so being that it is still fan fic writer appreciation day i just wanted to take a moment to recognize and appreciate a few people whom i admire in the SW fandom:
@ms-qualia has been a HUGE source for inspiration, as well as an excellent sounding board for topics. she’s a wonderful writer, probably one of my favorite writers for Rey because she doesn’t shy away from making her a real, flawed person, and i wholly appreciate that. she’s also a fab beta for both grammatical and content, and just an all around great person who indulges me far too often. i am so happy to be as close with her as i am. i hope you get all the trophies, darling🏆❤️
@floatin-on-bespin (brittlelimbs) also has been a huge source of inspiration and cheerleader. she’s always been down to read over something last minute and i envy her smut writing skills and the way she captures details, unnngh so good. i always talk to her about cowriting a fic and never make good on it! she also indulges me way too often and i am forever thankful to have her as someone i can send random stuff to and she just GETS IT 😘👑💍🐸🚲
@every-day-is-star-wars-day (alania) so if you haven’t read Breaking Point, you are seriously missing out on probably the hands-down best characterization of Hux in the fandom. so stop reading this post and RUN TO AO3 RIGHT FUCKIN NOW IF YOU HAVENT. BYE. she’s also been a huge source of help as far as writing goes with encouragement and practically threatening to kick my ass if i don’t fill prompts. i miss our VC dates reading fic ❤️
@aicosu i am in awe of sheila’s writing skills. every fic she writes… the scenes are so cinematic. the detail. and i love the cadence of her writing. it’s.. her writing is absolutely sublime. her knowledge of the SW universe is freaking ridiculous; i always go to her first if i have an in-universe question. and that’s just the fic writing stuff. she’s sort of responsible for me even being here so extra special nods and hugs to her (and sylar!) for being A+ wonderful people! ❤️
@teaguewrites i personally dragged into the reylux fam AND I WILL NEVER STOP TALKING ABOUT HOW GOOD FROM THE ASHES IS AND HOW AMAZING YOUR WRITING IS TEAGUE. so get used to it. my reylo bae, i will have my cheerleader pompoms ready always for you 💕
finally, i want to give a nod to a new acquaintance i made @femalespock who has been very welcoming to me in the kylux fam (as someone who is a multishipper who primarily ships reylux, and therefor reylo/reyux i am always worried i will be met with hostility by the kylux part of fandom)❤️ your writing is amazing and i envy your ability to write tragedy. your stories are compelling and top notch. i can’t stop recommending your fics to people getting into kylux!
and to all the other awesome writers i did not mention i also want to thank you all for your contributions! fan fic writers do this all for free and for fun. it certainly is a labor of love, and not something readers are entitled to, but are graced with by the goodness of writers' souls.
