REYLUX TROPESGIVING EXCHANGE 2016!!!

H'OKAY SO REYLUX TROPESGIVING IS UPON US!!!

Hey everyone, Satan here, and I am back with another Reylux fic exchange, this time we are doing: TROPES!

So this exchange is going to be 1k min-5k cap for writing. When you sign up you’ll give a list of squicks/limits you won’t write and two tropes as prompts you would like to see written. Please try not to be overly detailed. If you do not know what a trope is, please look it up. We have tons that are both general and fandom specific to pull from. tvtropes.org is a great place to start if you are unsure. non-specific AU’s (coffee shop, high school, etc.) generally count as tropes as well.

Please keep in mind this is a REYLUX ONLY FIC EXCHANGE this time around. Any prompts requesting pairings other than Reylux will be automatically taken out of the prompt pool. We will be expecting writers to also take this into consideration and only write Reylux related works since our fandom is starving. We’re gnawing each other’s bones practically…

Writers will be assigned 2 prompts via random selection by the exchange mod. You may choose to use one or both. You are not required to write both.

I tried to do soft Kylux and it kind of turned into a dark, incredibly smutty nightmare. I’m sorry. Like summoning an eldritch horror from the depths of the ocean, my brain is here to destroy your fluffy soft Kylux. Oops.

Kylux Fic Rec List (Part 1)

I know I have a few followers who this is primarily their jam, so I’ve compiled this list for those of you that are looking for some good Kylux fic. A few really well known ones have been omitted due to personal preference (Myspace AU, Southern Gothic AU, etc.). As with any fic rec list, YMMV. And while I will definitely say I am not as much of a fan of soft Kylux, I do dig hurt/comfort and whump with these boys so a majority of these will follow that trend.

Without further adieu, here are the recs:

Children Wake Up (series) by @hollyhark If you don’t know what this is… you have been living under a rock as a Kylux shipper. I can’t recommend this enough. Its heavy though. Super intense and emotional and one of those things you have to really sit down and read because it is DENSE. Tons of whump too. Characterization is amazing. I am so in love with hollyhark’s Kylo he’s probably #1 fan characterization of him in my book. I promise you won’t be able to put this down.

If you like this immediately read the shorter Origin Stories. Which ngl, fucked me up so good. Felt like someone slid a knife through my ribs and I lived to tell about it and I LOVED IT. Anything by hollyhark is going to be good (loving Here Comes Your Man), but i think these two are the essentials.

Idols and Dead Men by @sathinfection If you want some Kylo Amidala Senator!AU look no further. All of your needs have been met and exceeded. Also has wonderful art by @suzannart to accompany it. If you dig sath’s writing I would also highly reccomend Thoughts in Clay. Different, but equally good.

Adoro te Devote by @lingua-mortua Seminary!AU. There might be some squicky elements here (relations with a minor, religious content and sex) but if you don’t have issues with that I HIGHLY reccomend this fic. The writing is superb and Hux, omg read it for Hux. I just don’t have the words to describe how much I love this characterization of him. Read the coda at the end Visu sim beátus tuæ gloriæ by @fraxinus if you really want some extra pain. Trigger Finger by @femalespock Prepare to be gutted. I’m warning you. I wont give anything away but it will HURT YOU. This hurt me in the most delicious of ways and I want more. If you dig, go right to Remade in Marble, which will fuck you up just as good.

Just Don’t Put Down Your Guns Yet (series) by @acromantica, @favomancer Do you need to know Inception really well to dig this? I would say no. It helps but enough is explained. Stay for the suit porn, gun porn and how Hux and Kylo end up together because it is good. Also I blame them for now forever believing Phasma to be Phasmom and also ace, haha.

Quod me Nutrit by @kdazrael One of the first Hux-centric stories I read and its still one of my favorites. I like this back story way more than anything Wendig did. This one is very near and dear to me. kdazrael has other great fics like To the Pure, but this one to me really stands out.

Our Fragile Co-commandership by @nightsofllyn I just… I don’t have enough words to describe how much I love this. The dream sequences, the ridiculous banter. Them both being such sassbuckets. I just LOVE THIS.

To The Ends of the Stars by @shortarms-bigteeth So this is a little bit cuter than my normal Kylux but i am such a sucker for Force Sensitive Hux. Like A+, 100, easiest way to hook me into a story. And this fic delivers that so well! Both are sassy as they should be, and the EU characters showing up only add to the fun of the mix. If my other recs are way too heavy for you i would 100% recommend this. Engaging plot, great build up of sexual tension and both boys kicking ass :)

Anything by @claricechiarasorcha is going to get high praise from me, but i especially love her KBB fic Don’t look Back Into the Sun (which somehow managed to give me every single Hux AU I have ever loved all in one. He’s emperor, past sniper and the other one comes later! AGGGHGHGHG THIS FIC MAKES ME SO HAPPY IT EXISTS) and we let our battles choose us, an undercover!AU that goes different than your average matt fic as in that it is definitely not crackfic.

Altheia by @imochan, @reserve There’s a lot of fucked up shit going on in this fic, but man is it good. I think at one point it even made me cry (yeah I know). Like I don’t want to give any of the plot away but this will sting, it might even gut you, but it is soooooooo good. Please PLEASE heed any tags or warnings. Some of it might be triggering if you have consent issue triggers.
