Where do we submit feedback to Tumblr?

Seriously

These group chats are great but you can't have the messages disappear in 24 hours AND not notify members there was a post!

It's almost like they expect us to just check it 24/7. Like sorry I can't be on Tumblr constantly ya know?

I wanna join more group chats but it's useless if people aren't aware you're posting in them and then when they finally do go check, your messages are gone

Tumblr seems obsessed with giving me ads that just piss me off enough I can’t scroll through using the app!

No I do NOT want to see ads telling me signs of lung cancer or lymphoma! Since Pop died of cancer it has been even a more sensitive subject. I have an intense phobia about health care “professionals” so won’t even watch medical dramas, so seeing these ads over and over and over and OVER causes me great anxiety!

Oh, and no, I am NOT interested in dating women over 50 that like to take selfies showing off their large cleavage! I’m still under 50 and a pretty much a hetro female with my own large cleavage. I am not the slightest bit interested!

What gets me is, I have no idea why they are targeting me like this! I never look up medical stuff (see: my phobia), have not looked up any dating sites, etc. When I got ads for nursing homes after I looked up the rehab place Mom was in after her stroke I got it. I hated getting those ads, but they made a kind of sense. This makes NO sense!!

These just started showing up a week or so ago, the same time the browser version of Tumble stopped being usable on my iPad so I have to use the damned app!

Geez, why couldn’t they target me with some other, ANY other, ads? I look up weird stuff all the time!

@staff WHERE ARE MY TAGS??

Sent feedback, changed my review, submitted a help request which got a thanks for reporting spam response. WTF is happening on this site? I've been on Tumblr for at least 6 years, I'm not a new spam site, don't post explicit content so what's the deal? Why should I bother posting things when nobody can see it? Might as well write it in a diary and throw it in a fire.

Tumblr really needs to sort itself out because now two blogs I follow that I really liked have just been hacked and now have those stupid sex game links on them and honestly @staff you should be ashamed of yourself for the state of this website that any blog can just randomly get hacked and that at least once a day I have to report and block another porn bot that's followed me and yet the only blogs I see getting flagged as "explicit" are ones that showed a picture of someone's fucking shoulders or god forbid an ankle like this is the 1800s fucking get it together you've had enough time to fix this I don't get this even a fraction as much on literally an other social media site

UPDATE:

Managed to enable two-step verification on this bitch. Noticed I had some more gross ad posts & panicked, but then learned that, even after a hacker loses access to your blog, you may see more posts that are not your own if the hacker filled up your queue with junk. So I had to manually delete a few hundred such posts that were indeed in my queue. Hopefully that's the last of the issues, but we'll see. Fingers crossed. Worst case scenario, I'll have to delete & start a new blog.

It still baffles me that Staff locked the ENTIRE site on Safe Search AND banned a ton of Adult blogs AND makes it so our own content is invisible to ourselves, locking us out of our own blogs/archives AND keeps them hidden from blogs even if both blogs are Adult blogs AND THEY FAILED TO STOP PORN BOTS

How is it that some of my mutuals aren’t allowed to have avatars but I still get 3 porn bot followers a day

you know every time the tumblr app updates it just gives away the fact that the staff has no idea what we're actually doing here... like why the fuck would I ever want to add some random pictures from my camera roll to a post? like this is just a disaster waiting to happen

No offence Tumblr, but wasn’t the reason you drove out thousands of artists and writers so we wouldn’t have to deal with these kinds of bots?

Your blog was hacked: what to do?

If you see weird pics of ladies with dubious links posted on your blog out of the blue, here’s a step by step way of stopping this and preventing it from happening again that I think might work.

Important : this only works if you can still access your blog!

Changing your password is important, but it won’t do you any good if your hacker still has an opened session on your blog and can still access it. So the first thing you wanna do is close your hacker’s session.

For that you need to go in your blog’s settings:

image

On the new page opened, scroll all the way down. There, you can see something called “Active Sessions“. The first and oldest one (”current session” in green) should be yours, the new one should be the hacker’s session. To close your hacker’s session, click the gray X next to it.

Now that their session is closed, they can’t access your blog anymore unless they enter the password again.

So don’t lose time, go all the way back up and change your password immediately. Make also sure your hacker didn’t change your email address.

Now you should be safe from your hacker. But it won’t prevent you from getting hacked again.

If you really want to be safe from hackers, you should turn on the “Two-factor authentification” option (on the same page).

It requires you to enter your phone number, which is a bummer. But if it’s turned on, everytime you wanna log on (so not if your session is already opened, but only if you log off and try to log on again), it will send a code on your phone that you’ll have to enter (in addition to having a password).

That way if someone tries to hack you again, even if they get your password right, they won’t be able to enter your blog without having that code.

There it is. I hope it will help some of you, since I see more and more people noticing blogs being hacked

I would add to check your queue after this because it will continue posting afterwards.

yes, great addition 👌

Tumblr staff being salty about their new group chat just falls flat because, once again, we don’t need this feature. Facebook did that ages ago, Discord already have most of us there. What purpose does group chats have when Tumblr staff already scared everyone away??

Seriously, since the “porn ban”, nothing has changed. I have been followed by at least 10 different bots, just in October and November. Banning “female presenting” nipples but still failing to fix the problem, A+ work there, Tumblr head office! (I’m not blaming the developers here as this is clearly a leadership issue)

Instead of wasting the time of the developers with a group chat system no one ever wanted or needed, try this instead:

  • Timestamps on posts (to avoid old issues being brought up years later)
  • An option to save Tumblr chats as a file (pleeeease!)
  • Bookmark feature (because the app can’t figure out endless scrolling without crashing every single damn time)
  • A functioning audio player (about time, it hasn’t worked since ever)
  • Changing colours of your dashboard (you know bloody well why, staff)

Feel free to add any suggestions, this is really just a couple of mine!
