Part 3 of my social media reflections as I test out my new Blue Sky account.

The struggle of growing up in the early days of a new technology where certain behaviors definitely exist, but there isn't enough of a wider cultural understanding to give them names as of yet.

This reflection in hindsight also seems like it could have stemmed from attending an art school where popularity as an artist was closely tied to being considered a 'success' by a lot of the faculty. Art school and social media were pretty closely coiled for me in that way, but I'll save my art school reflections for another day.

Are you that same anon who sent that ask about Super Ghost Girl earlier this year? Between actually knowing and caring about Super Ghost Girl enough to send an ask and your messy grammar, you seem like you could be the same person....

Nothing's changed since that first ask; I'm not working on any Super Ghost Girl projects at the moment. The attempt to dig up what you were referring to did make me wistful though, so even if I'm not ready to return to her, I do appreciate your interest.

I'm so impressed you remember this old throwaway tweet from 8 years ago that I'm willing to share what I remember about what I had in mind for 'Fangirl Makes a Fandom': When Fangirl struggles to find anyone willing to talk with her about her latest fixation, she decides she'll make her own friends. She combining her code with strings borrowed from the other digital ghosts to make her own group of friends. I think the whole idea for this story stemmed from a character design challenge where I combined Fangirl's design with the other digital ghosts, and I liked the results enough that I came up with the story idea. Fangirl's fandom starts to go awry when there's in-fighting that gets messy enough that SGG has to get involved. The programmer is forced to undo the hybrids, destroying Fangirl's friends and leaving her alone again. The Programmer and SGG feel bad enough that they end up offering to listen to Fangirl geek out.

I do have actual concept art of the designs I had in mind for the hybrids, but they're in a physical sketchbook that I'm not able to access right now. Maybe I'll do some digging around at some point when I'm less busy.

I had my horror game idea gals, Ava and Bea, stuck in my head lately. I'm still a long ways away from being able to tell their story, but I do still have fun thinking of them, and I wanted to share even these rough doodles.

Magnolia's pretty similar to what happens in-game. I imagine she's really flourishing being Captain. For once in her life, Magnolia's really excited about what the FUTURE has to bring.

Uhhh what else...she's the star charm on Sky's friendship necklace? Sky got a sun/moon themed friendship necklace with Hazel, but added a star charm to represent Magnolia, and that made Magnolia Really Happy.

Hazel right now is attending college. She misses spending every day with her BFF Sky and she still doesn't feel sure what direction she wants to take her life in after college. But! She's not gonna let that get her down!!! She's determined to make the most of everyday and live in the PRESENT!

A comic I never got around to making was Sky coming across the Alterna files and feeling incredibly moved by the stories of humans in the underground longing to see the sky again, just like she used to feel. That feeling of connection she felt with a species that went extinct thousands of years before she ever existed really showed her what power the PAST has.

I haven't drawn Hazel Skies lately, but I did think about what teams each one would pick out for this festival. I'll share their thoughts and reasoning over the next few days!
