Found this in a lease I'm reading through:
... you won’t be released from this Contract for any reason, including, but not limited to ... death.
I'm pretty sure they're just trying to make sure they're can charge your guarantors for rent even if you die. BUT I can't stop picturing a ghost whose unfinished business tethers that them to the mortal plane is rent.
St. Peter, don't you call me 'cause I can't go I owe my soul to Johnson & McCourt Real Estate Consulting LLC
#that would be a hell of a roommate situation#'ok you're all moved in'#'hope the shared space isn't too cramped haha'#'....but I'm the only one here?'#[spooky music plays]#sure i knew the rent was cheap because they said someone died here#but this is not what i thought you meant by roommate wanted#lmao#ok but real talk that rental contract isnsuper fucked and I'd be shocked if that's actually something they can legally hold anyone too#like wtf do you mean the contract doesn't even end if you die#that's not how contracts work my dudes#wait wait wait bonus angle on the ghost roommate story#the landlord is a literal vampire#because this is some predatory shit xD
