I've been so into the AUs where everything is fine everybody is alive that I'm getting more and more sensitive when people talk about the canon story...
Like if you talk to me about the outcome of episode 9, or why the Asheiji hug in episode 22 hurts a lot, or Eiji getting shot, their farewell scene, the library-
I can get emotional thinking deeply about these lol.
Denialdom sure got me hard-

Someone said Hyakki wasn’t just blindly raging and killed off those samurais, he was just trying to get back what was his using the only way he knows how.
By killing the one that had taken what belong to him, just like what he did to all those demons that took his body parts. Hyakkimaru wanted killed all those samurais because they took Mio away from him.
In the end, Hyakki had to learn that the body parts could return after those demons was killed but Mio couldn’t.
