I'm watching two documentaries of one of my familys' villages and Palestinian and 'Israeli' witness accounts from the Naksa and a Jewish tour guide comes to one of the villages (which were the 3 villages side by side, all of them affected) and points to a bathhouse with gravestones all around it. The area of all three villages is now completely demolished and the Jewish National Fund built the "Canada Park" (funded predominately by Canada! Through tax deductible donations!), as well as an Israeli settlement, on top of it. An Israeli woman sits, eating from the trees that my ancestors planted, and she says "this is war. I dont feel the pain from these places, the pain of the people. This is what happens in war." Can you imagine? She sits, eating from my ancestors trees and she says "it doesn't matter to me." The level of selfishness to be so confident in your theft!

In the documentary, a Palestinian elder from Yalo says, holding back tears, that her dream is to go back to Yalo and die and be buried in her home, where her husband died. That was my great grandmothers' dream that was never realized, just a few years ago in a village not far from Yalo.

They talk about how this was a war crime, a crime against humanity. Since '67 we have been having these discussions. Since '48 we have been talking about war crimes committed by Israelis! These are the same discussions we keep having! The same facts we keep repeating! Even Yitzhak Rabin says the same things, that this is war, this is what happens in a war! It's the same things over and over and it's happening in Gaza!

There are people still alive who participated in the ethnic cleansing of these villages. They participated in demolishing these villages. They participated in killing those village members. They participated in the generations of poverty that Palestinians experience. They're still alive and just walking around in Israeli society, encouraging the genocide in Gaza. How can I trust a society like that? Knowing that these people are lauded as heroes for erasing these villages. How can I trust them when barely anyone in this society acknowledges the violence done onto us? Abhorrent violence that they let happen so willingly!

Here are the documentaries. These three villages were ethnically cleansed in '67, and it's shocking to hear the same sort of stories we hear from Gaza today. The same playbook, the same places.

American Indian children (especially plains ndns) were forced to attend boarding schools where they were forbidden to speak their own language and had to cut off their hair and choose a “white” name from the bible. If you refused, the teacher would often ridicule you by ignoring you anytime you attempted to speak or participate in class, to the point of saying offensive, false things about your people to rile you up enough that you gave in and picked a white name so the teacher would let you speak and tell the truth. (This is shown in bury my heart at wounded knee). In fact, it is hard to trace records before the turn of the 19th to 20th centuries bc the govt considered the way native peoples often have several different names that they go by in different context and by different people to be too annoying to record them in a census, another reason they were forced to choose white names.

There isn't evidence that kids are very susceptible, and there IS evidence to show asymptomatic carriers likely don't spread the disease. The brainwashing this year has people afraid of their own shadows istg.

The whole mask hysteria is funny since, in my experience at least, the past couple of months ems and hospital staff have ditched most of the ppe unless it's a confirmed case. Most have switched over to cloth or surgical masks since hospital management mandated them in the building.

We were deep cleaning our rigs after every call front and back back in March and April as if we were transferring tb patients. And after going back to standard decon we haven't even had one person out with the kung flu.

Our company mandated masks be worn in the garage at all times (and in the rigs at all times, which no one followed) There are less than a dozen people wearing them, the only ones are the few hardcore (almost suicidal, pack and a half-two packs a day) smokers who cough everywhere and the people who are still freaking out about this (they're now only scheduled together because everyone else got sick of the complaining)

Most of the nursing homes have ditched their covid floors and basically put them in a corner. (At the psych ones they even get their own smoking time, lol)

Most of the dedicated Shanghai shiver's hospital floors are basically empty.

It seems like most of Chicago's new cases are because companies are mandating tests to return to work.

Last month the Starbucks by our garage had a minor panic because almost half their staff tested positive (they were being forced to get tested weekly) yet less than a week later were back to normal.

Children are less at risk from Wuhan Flu than the normal seasonal flu that we never shut down anything for.

If a particular teacher is at risk due to other conditions they can do remote teaching with a younger and more healthy teacher's aid in the classroom so there is no reason left at all to not open the schools.

Children were on break when this all started and the data that says they havn't been dying is soley because schools have been closed. To use that to say they have no excuses is incredibly ignorant.

To say they need to do electronic learning ignores the fact schools are underfunded and different cities may punish people for refusing to return to work. It wasn't a teacher but someone was told they'd have to use their sick days to be allowed to work from home. With the threat by the president to defund schools who refuse to reopen, who's to say a teacher won't lose their job for refusing to go to work, especially if they don't have the means to teach electronically as some lower income schools may not?

Lastly, healthy people can die from this too and the stress and fear from having to work under these conditions could compromise healthy people's immune systems, putting them at higher risk.

2020 is about blocking another four years of nightmare hell. 2020 is about caring about other people’s realities over your “conscience” (read: online woke points). Bad idea on my part to post these opinions here but I’ll just do that.

While we still have options for democratic nominees VOTE FOR THE BEST PERSON. I don’t want you voting for the one with “broadest support” or someone who is “willing to compromise”. For people pushed to the bottom rungs of society, we don’t want people who will compromise further our dignity and freedom, we want change and protection. Middle of the line is not going to work anymore. The 2016 elections could have gone FAR differently if we actually LISTENED to minorites and didn’t protect the people who are going to keep corporations safe.

There are many good candidates who fit this, but don’t vote for cops or corporate politicians. If we get the right candidate at nomination time, we can not only get the person out of office, but also actually have a chance at changing our society just a little bit. He isn’t the sole problem and getting him out will NOT fix much of anything. We have to keep actively pushing for our rights and lives to be respected and protected.

To add onto this, if we pick the right candidate we have a real chance of beating him, which was the real problem in 2016. It's not just Democrats we have to win over, it's Republicans and Independents and you can't win them with posts like this. We all need real change. Hillary was the worst candidate ever, as in people actively voted against her for Trump on purpose, (I didn't but it's true) so maybe if we're lucky anyone else can beat him but let's not take any chances.

Like they were holding the line across the entry gate and refusing to let night shift guards in and a massive truck just, fucking, drove up to them then slowed as the protestors got up from where they were sitting, alarmed, then the truck accelerated into people.

It doesn't seem like there are any serious injuries. The people who were around the truck after it stopped accelerating into people were pepper sprayed.

Apparently an eldery protester who was hit by the car had their leg broken/fractured and recieved some back injuries. A hospital spokesperson refused to give any updates on their condition, stating patient privacy laws.
