Team: Still Can't Believe So Many People Think "(dwight) you ignorant slut" Is Originally From The Office
Mort Sahl, one of comedy's original political commentators + The faces of today's news
7/21/2017
Seth: visualizes the world as viewers think of it, then takes it literally to appeal to “what everyone’s thinking, but nobody says”
Sam: sees people she makes jokes about as people viewers know already and can connect to, using strong visual language (ex. “Guy who has definitely hit a manatee with his speedboat”)
Stephen: likes characterizing political figures and even shipping them. He likes to make it seem like deep deep down, everyone is on our side.
Fallon: likes to get right to the point, to appeal to all viewers who might not get it. Again with his wide but general appeal, quick, witty, and easy-to-understand jokes are his friend.
Weekend Update: heavy use of the traditional topic, angle, punch line formula. They like to bounce punch lines back and forth between Update hosts when there’s more than one punch line. Update anchors always have different voices that are slight variations on the actor’s personality (Live From New York, 2014)
Conan: not afraid to go directly for the stereotype or obvious appearance, and hit it head on (in this case, a short joke) addressing it directly. It’s that ginger confidence. His jokes usually include a lie such as a false quote for comedic effect.
Kimmel: likes to attack people specifically, and enjoys the pop culture links, almost nobody is safe.
*Please note that these are not real jokes these hosts have made. I wrote these jokes based on my best knowledge of each host’s voice. Please keep original caption*

“The press are calling our first show controversial. If I said everything I wanted to on TV, it would just freak America out. The only way people would listen is if a pretty white girl sang it.” -Dave Chappelle, Chappelle’s Show 1.2, 1/29/03
