Survival in Gaza is a fight for everyone and everything, not just humans. Every living thing is caught up in this nightmare, from the smallest creatures to the strongest among us. Take this little cat, for instance. She’s from Jabalia refugee camp, Al-Tarens neighborhood, house number 96, sixth street. Yeah, I know her address. She’s one of us, a Palestinian too, sitting alone in the rubble, her fur matted and dusty, with a raw, swollen eye that speaks of all she’s been through. She’s lost her hearing; explosions shake her tiny frame, but she doesn’t even react anymore. And yet, her will to survive? Unbroken.
In so many ways, she’s Gaza in a nutshell. Life here is a brutal, endless test of endurance. The genocide, the bitter cold, the soaring prices that turn basic needs like food, shelter, medicine into unattainable luxuries. These are things my family and countless others can only dream of.
For families in Gaza, survival itself has become a privilege. Nonprofits that once helped have pulled out, forced away by the very forces that keep us oppressed. And the few who stayed? Acting as middlemen, diverting the aid that’s supposed to be for us. Some prioritize their own networks in distributing aid; others resell what little is sent. Some even claim that half of donations get eaten up by "logistics costs." And then there’s aid that supposedly just "never arrives." So, families like mine are left to fend for ourselves, stripped of even the basic dignity that comes with having our needs met.
I look at this little cat, and I’m struck by the fragility of life here. My family’s hanging by a thread, surviving day to day in a world that seems indifferent to everything we’re going through. And yet, like her, we just keep going. Not because we’re strong or resilient, but because, honestly, what other choice do we have?
If this hits home for you, if this little cat’s fight feels like something you understand, please consider helping. Every donation, no matter the amount, goes directly to where it’s needed most. It can mean a bit of warmth, a moment of safety, maybe even a sliver of hope in these times that feel darker than anything.
From a heart that’s been broken too many times, thank you for standing with us.
If, for some reason, you couldn't donate via GoFundMe, you can donate via PayPal instead.
Please keep the conversion rates in mind when donating through GoFundMe. Every 250 SEK is equivalent to 25 dollars, and 506 SEK equals 50 dollars and so on.
Note: There’s even a raffle for a handmade Palestinian thob if you want to participate : Link
Please continue boosting and donating to Falastin's campaign; there have been 2 donations in the last 17 hours and in general donations have slowed down in the last week. She is fundraising since June and barely received any support despite being vetted so many times and writing many posts. The campaign supports 26 people and I don't think you need any more information to consider donating.
There's also a raffle HERE, please check it out. And keep in mind that the Paypal is in USD but Gofundme is in SEK, here are the rates from today:
10$ = 108 SEK
25$ = 272 SEK
50$ = 544 SEK
100$ = 1,088 SEK

This is Andrey X, a Jewish Israeli pro-Palestine activist.
I don't know how to describe this video so I'll just write out what he's saying:
That is the beginning of an Israeli settlement. And this is the Palestinian village of Umm al-Hiran. Which is right now under a demolition order, in order to expand the settlement that way.
And we are not in the West Bank. We are in the Naqab desert. Every single Palestinian in that village has an Israeli passport. And yet they're being expelled to make way for a Jewish settlement.
And look at the hills around us. This place is empty. If Israel wants to build a settlement, they can do it anywhere. And yet they choose to do it here. Because the only purpose of that settlement is to expel Palestinians from their land.
This is happen all over the Naqab desert. Currently 14 Palestinian Bedouin communities are under demolition orders. And thousands of people are set to become homeless.
This is the most blatant illustration that Israel is an ethno-nationalist apartheid state. The Palestinians of Umm al-Hiran have the exact same citizenship as the settlers who are about to move into their land. And yet the Palestinians are being ethnically cleansed just because they belong to an ethno-cultural group that the Israeli state wants to suppress as much as possible.

that one picture says “be a rainbow” and doesn’t even use rainbow colors ☠️
Did anyone else notice the most ironic bulletin board ever:
“The rest of the world was black and white but we were in screaming color”
Ma’am, those colors are whispering
This teacher doesn't have a good aesthetic at all, but I think a lot of people who aren't teachers (especially of young children), don't understand that a classroom is an incredibly overstimulating environment. Professional Development on calm and effective class spaces has changed a lot and something I've heard again and again is this: do you miss the colors because of nostalgia? What you think is fun? Or using research on sensory regulation. A great classroom uses color intentionally, in a way that I think this teacher is trying to do that (at least hopefully). They just aren't doing it very well.
Using less color in teacher chosen decor can leave room for other sensory experiences, especially ones that are typically less disregulating and have more variance-- like texture. More importantly, imo this also draws the eye to children's work which is most often filled with many bright colors chosen by kids to experiment with. It also often allows you and children to focus on their chosen activities, and small children are more easily able to point out their and others' past works to draw inspiration from. Intentionally decorating your room as well, like with a visual schedule, can also help with sensory regulation and executive functioning development.
This may sound judgemental, but I think a lot of traditional teachers "take some inspiration" from play based pedagogies that use color more sparingly in their spaces, but totally miss the point of the calming effect of less color in decor by adding as many ugly posters as possible and never using the positive of displaying work from their kids visibly. The space is still overstimulating, and now it just has no character.

Do y'all wanna know what's worse than trump? Setting a precedent that an administration can commit a genocide, force y'all to watch that genocide on social media, and still get your vote, especially if their stated plan is "we regret nothing and our policies will NOT change." /End I.D.]
Wonderful teacher moment:
I got floated into Pre-K (very not my style) and we were on a walk in the park. A few twenty-somethings were skateboarding, doing tricks on some good sidewalk-- one of the guys has a helmet and the other doesn't.
One of the four-year-olds yells "you're not wearing a helmet!" to a guy doing ollies.
The one who had the helmet was resting, and immediately popped it off his head and gave it to the guy skating. Without any hesitation, he put it on and did some tricks for the kids. Shout out to people in public who make our day brighter and want to set a good example for our littles.
I think because many Americans have not paid attention to the rhetoric of Palestine near elections before that they think harris is trying to meet demands of protesters but to Palestinians the rhetoric is just the democrat rhetoric of the so called "peace process" for the last couple decades, where they give Palestinians aid, gives Israel bombs, admonish Palestinians for making israel use its bombs, fund israel to continue its settlements and facilitate their land grabs of Palestine while pretending they disapprove of the settlements etc etc. america regardless of the party intends the total colonization of palestine its all fake what they say about ceasefire and the peace process.

Muhammad Ayesh (@ayeshjourney) is a pillar of the community: he has vetted campaigns for gaza-evacuation-funds as well as el-shab-hussein, nabulsi and irhabiya. Through Muhammad’s efforts, it has been possible to support many, many families in Ghazzah. He has shown incredible bravery, generosity and kindness.
Muhammad now urgently needs our support. He and his family are living through unimaginable circumstances. Muhammad has written about his current situation in this post.
At present (23.10.24), Muhammad’s campaign is at £8,687. We are trying to reach the short-term goal of £10,000 ($12,927 USD) as soon as possible.
Please donate what you can to Muhammad’s GFM.
Tagging for reach:
Everyone wants to get out of Gaza. This is the primary thing you need to understand. Everyone needs money so they can pay predatory Egyptian border guards to be let through. But since the border is currently completely closed, they mostly need money to buy everyday things and provide for their families.
This is where Gaza's record inflation comes in. Everyone wants to get out as soon as possible so everyone wants to accumulate enough money as soon as possible, including vendors who are selling supplies and food in the first place.
Our current society makes us blind to the relation between product and producer but understand this: almost every vendor in Gaza is Gazan themselves and they have families who they need to take care of as well. This requires money.
@iyadsobhegaza and @rubashsblog (who this commenter was accusing) can't just wait till they've reached their final goal to withdraw the money. They need to withdraw whatever ammount they need every couple of days so they can continue buying supplies. Their campaign has been going for several months and they've been withdrawing from it based on what they need for all those months.
Say they raise $100 one day and know that the next day, they will need to buy medicine and vegetables. A box of meds costs $50 and a couple of vegetables together also cost around $50. So when they withdraw the $100 they raise that day, that means it's been used up.
This combined with the inflation means that money gets used up really fast. Furthermore, the ammount that the p*yp*l shows they have raised does not reflect the ammount they have saved up. It is simply the ammount that has been donated so far.
That's $1 per hour. The minimum wage in the US is $7 per hour. That is already very little, so why are you making them have to go by with even less ? They haven't raised anything even close to $100 for the past several days.
Eman, their organiser who is in Egypt (since p*yp*l doesn't work in Palestine), can't send them these meager amounts because p*yp*l and predatory banks have high transfer fees which will eat up everything if she tries to send it.
Now that that's over, I won't take up even more of your time. Here's the current most important points:
Yes, they're vetted. (No. 90 and 173 on the spreadsheet)
I dont know what else I can say. I am literally begging you to donate. They have so little and these ill-informed comments are doing nothing to help. You have the privilege of saying this while they don't even have the privilege of having a stable source of income, not to mention having to survive an active genocide. Please donate.
where would we be without at least one fart joke in the comic about nuclear winter
When South Africa dismantled apartheid, it did not end with the expulsion of all white South Africans. They became part of the new South Africa, just without the criminal discriminatory oligarchic powers the apartheid goverment had. When Bolivia recognized its indigenous heritage and became a plurinational state, it did not mean that people of European descent were expelled in masse. It meant the recognition of the previously discriminated indigenous and mestizo people of Bolivia and the beginning of a path of integration and revalidation.
What I mean is that it's ridiculous to think that decolonization inherently means mass suffering and relocation, that's what colonization does. Decolonization is recognizing the crimes of colonization, but more importantly, material, political and social steps to give power and self-determination to the exploited native people who were victims of colonialism and imperialism.
In multicultural societies, you don't go like in that Peter Griffin meme with a skin tone chart and saying 'well, you go back to Europe, you go back to Africa, you stay here'. You build a new society on the paradigm of dignity for exploited people and equality under the law. People are acting like this is some sort of fantastic utopia instead of real initiatives that were done in living memory, with successes and failures, as all such initiatives have. One must ask why are some so insistent that multicultural societies can't thrive, especially when for most of history, societies were indeed like that. Consider why you think like that.
picketing terf conferences is OUT, releasing 6000 live crickets into the audience of a terf conference and watching chaos erupt as everyone scrambles to evacuate is IN
