I'll admit, I got into some proshipping when I was younger, because I'm a survivor of sa and I thought it would help, I quickly realized romanticizing stuff like that is incredibly harmful to myself, it stops you from understanding what kinds of relationships are bad and good

why are pro shippers the loudest about hating squidge world. When the only difference between ao3 and that site is it has strict policy against Child Sexual Exploitation Materials. Like this is a good thing, ao3 should have it too. It doesn't.

Also on the topic of proshipping, I think people should note that a good majority of proshippers are not only mentally unwell and need mental help, but were more than likely groomed by a proshit before them. Its weird just in general that we've normalized a 21yr old being besties with a 15yr old online, but it becomes even more dangerous when you have a normal, sane, decent adult old talking to kids so often that these impressionable kids are thinking they know internet safety and that they can trust the adults around them. Its shit like that that gets kids to trust the wrong people and then eventually become the wrong people themselves. Even a good adult can put a kid on a path to a bad one. Obviously thats not EVERY case, but you'll never catch me as a man in his twenties talking to a minor daily. That's also not to say you can't interact with a minor every now and then, like a post, draw a commission, debate video game lore, you just can't be out here talking to this kid so regularly that they don't know the difference between you, their friend of age, and their mother. Of course a child you've developed a bond with is going to think you can do no wrong and might even follow in your footsteps. Its just interesting how, in person, people are absolutely gonna bat at eye at a grown adult going on little playdates with a child, but when those age differences are converted into online spaces, people don't care as much?? For one, having nonsexual relationships with people of a variety of ages is an essential part of development for teenagers and even for older children. I'm going to assume that by "normal, sane, and decent adult" you mean an adult who is maintaining appropriate topics of discussion with the teenager/older child in question and you're just phrasing that in the most ableist and saneist way possible.
If that assumption is true, then yes, they are modeling what appropriate online interactions with adults on social platforms looks like. That's not going to suddenly trick a teenager into believing an online predator and it's a patently ridiculous assertion to make. Interacting regularly with a teenager/older child will not make them confuse you for their parent or a peer, I promise. They are capable of telling the difference.
