Ryleigh’s leg ached as she awoke, but it was soon forgotten, feeling Jake cocooned around her. His arm rested across her stomach, chest pressed to her back, breath fanning her neck. She’d woken with the thought of needing painkillers, but the steady rhythm of Jake’s breathing and the warmth of his embrace seemed relief enough for the moment.

She timidly shuffled back, pulling his arm up and tighter around her, and even in the midst of sleep, he must have thought she was cold as he tugged the blanket higher and nestled his face into her neck.

She’d seen Jake in many scenarios, and his cocksure smirk was ever-present. Unable to stop herself, she gingerly turned over, careful not to wake him nor put too much pressure on her injury, as she wanted to see what he looked like, relaxed and vulnerable as he slept. 

A slight frown creased his brow, “Cold,” he murmured, eyes still firmly shut. Jake smoothly ran his hand over her side tucking it under the other side, and tugged her flush against him. Reflexively she threw her leg over his hip, and slowly his eyes opened. As close as they were, almost nose to nose, she noticed flecks of gold amongst the hazel. He smiled softly in a silent greeting, and she felt her stomach flip. 

I'm sorry, but Jake is a fucking idiot 🙄🙄

This is my official I'm back baby post. My hiatus was unplanned, so unfortunately I do not have a lot of works to share at the moment. There’s been no new hyperfixations… I’m still firmly stuck with the TGM guys… I’m a little bit more in love (obsessed) with Danny Ramirez (Fanboy) and Lewis Pullman (Bob).

(And that’s a wrap for 1950s Fanboy! Might I suggest you listen to this song to set the mood? I saw these pictures of Danny and immediately got Grease vibes, so I thought that this would be a fun decade to explore. I mean, who wouldn’t want to share a milkshake with Fanboy?) 

OMG!! This is gorgeous and totally made me smile💗🤩

The milkshake is heavenly, salted caramel and banana, perfect consistency, thick but not too thick that it gets stuck in the straw. Mickey sits across from you, devouring his own milkshake, peanut butter and chocolate, watching you the whole time.

BAM! Brain freeze.

"Ow, ow, ow," you groan, heel of your palm pressed to your forehead, "brain freeze!"

Fanboy chuckles as he slides out of his side of the booth to slip in next to you. "I know a cure for that," he whispers, a boyish grin making his eyes light up. Gently he pulls your hand away and kisses the spot where it had been, then lower on the bridge of your nose. By the time he presses his lips to yours, your entire body is on fire, melting the brain freeze and your senses.

Mickey snapped a shot of Y/N, watching as her confidence grew each time the shutter clicked. The one piece swimsuit looked elegant and hugged her figure in all the places he wanted to touch. She was beauty personified, inside and out, which explained why he’d fallen for her all those years ago. Not that she was aware of that fact. 

Y/N needed some professional photos taken to enter a local beauty contest - the grand prize was twenty thousand dollars and she could really use the money. 

“Of course I’ll do it,” Mickey said, excitedly and without hesitation when she’d asked. “I’m always looking for beautiful subjects to photograph.”

She shied away, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. She loved his enthusiasm and his pictures were stunning so she knew she was in good hands.

It wasn’t the first time he’d called her beautiful and it certainly wouldn’t be the last but her reaction always stumped him. “Why do you do that?” he asked, softly lifting her face to meet his eyes. “You are beautiful, Y/N, and I’m honored you want me to be the one to capture it. But why do you retreat into yourself whenever I tell you that?” 

“You know why.”

He did know why. He’d been the one to pick up the pieces when the reason, Derek, crashed into her heart like a semi-truck filled with other lovers. 

The sun reflected off the pool, highlighting her face and he yelled, “don’t move!”
