They sat across from each other in her room, neither one of them making any move to talk. A thousand questions ran through his head. Where would he even start? If he hadn't seen her...claws, he wouldn't have believed what she had told him, but after seeing them for himself, he knew better than to doubt what she said.
"Well?" Delaney asked finally, taking another pull of her vape, the smell of the smoke making his nose wrinkle slightly. "Sorry, I'll get some fresh air in here." Getting up from her seat on the foot of the bed, she went to the balcony and open the doors. The rain was coming down steadily now, but the balcony and the awning would keep the inside of the room dry.
"How long..." He stopped with a sigh, "How long you been like this?"
"All my life." She said, sitting back down and pulling a leg underneath her. "Call it the Cox Curse. I do."
"And the--" He gestured at the device in her hand.
"Like I said, wolfsbane. Poisonous to humans in large doses, but it does have some medicinal properties. For...people like me, it suppresses that side. Jason came up with the idea."
