Bucky flipped Rayne over his shoulder, and though he eased her landing, she still puffed out a big breath as if it had winded her. Sam didn’t hesitate and surged forward, foot slamming down in the spot her head had been a split second before she rolled out of the way. She’d barely made it up onto one knee before Natasha caught her in a headlock. Rayne struggled, managed to throw an elbow into Nat’s gut, but it did nothing but piss off the Black Widow.
Nat wasn’t holding back, as she’d been instructed to do. Rayne struggled for breath, and her cheeks turned red under the assault. She found an ounce of strength, threw two electric charged discs, hitting their targets with a crackle; Bucky and Sam dropped to their knees, stopping their advance. One last burst of energy was just enough to toss Nat over her shoulder. But the redhead didn’t give up easily. In one swift move, she’d tucked herself beneath Rayne and kept her arm snug around Rayne’s throat.
Rayne gasped, tried to gain a breath but tapped out in the same instant Steve yelled, “Enough!”
