“It isn’t self-defense if you are an occupying force…” — Queen Rania of Jordan

On 12 October 2023, Queen Rania of Jordan took to Instagram to express her support for the Palestinians in Gaza. She posted an Instagram story in which she wrote: “It isn't self-defense if you are an occupying force.” The queen, who is of Palestinian origin, reposted several stories depicting what is happening in Gaza right now.

Earlier, King Abdullah II directed to send urgent humanitarian and medical aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, through the Rafah Crossing, in coordination with the Egyptian authorities. He also directed that the required needs of the Palestinians in the West Bank be identified and provided as quickly as possible.
