Playdate with Winnie The Pooh Sets Premiere Date Alongside Spin-Off Shorts "Me & Winnie The Pooh"

Disney Junior has set the premiere date of the upcoming preschool short musical series "Playdate with Winnie The Pooh", the series will debut on Disney Junior, Disney NOW and Youtube on Friday August 12, 2023.

Additionaly a side series of shorts named "Me & Winnie The Pooh" is set to debut on the same day, this series of shorts are akin to "Me & Mickey Vlogs" which have been a huge sucess across Disney+ and Disney Junior since it's 2022 debut.

“Playdate With Winnie the Pooh” and "Me & Winnie The Pooh" is being produced by OddBot Inc. in association with Disney Television Animation. Both shows will be the first project from Disney to release after the original Winnie The Pooh characters went in to public domain back on January 1, 2022.

Disney Television Animation Unveils First Look To Playdate With Winnie The Pooh Slated For This August On Disney Junior

At today’s “Next 100” presentation at the Annecy International Film Festival, Disney revealed a first look at the upcoming Disney Junior animated series, “Playdate with Winnie the Pooh”, which will debut this August in the U.S. on the Disney Junior channel and will then roll out globally on Disney+.

“Playdate With Winnie the Pooh” is being produced by OddBot Inc. in association with Disney Television Animation

I thought Disney was done with Pooh after the film with Ewan McGregor but they’re actually going through with another series, and reimagining him as an adorable kid!

I can’t tell you how happy this makes me that Disney’s not ready to say T.T.F.E. to Pooh and his friends yet.

Just throwing out there, the 100th show won’t involve any Multiverse stuff with all the characters of the studio….. It’s a more slice-of-life series…..probably something made by Cheyenne Curtis (”Star Vs The Forces Of Evil”,”Big City Greens”,”Amphibia”,”The Ghost And Molly McGee”)

Disney Enterprises Inc has trademarked merchandise plans for their upcoming 2024 animated preschool slate from Disney Television Animation “ROBOGOBO” and “PLAYDATE WITH WINNIE THE POOH”

The merchandise plans include plush toys,action,figures,bags,backpacks,clothing,books by Disney Publishing Worldwide and soundtracks by Walt Disney Records.

Disney Branded Television Developing New Winnie The Pooh Musical Animated Short Series For Disney Junior.

As part of Disney Juniors Fun Fest event, which was held on Friday at the Disney California Adventure theme park, a brand new short-form series featuring Winnie the Pooh and his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood was announced.

The musical short-form series is currently going by the working title of “Winnie The Pooh”, so it is likely that the series is given a unique name before it launches.

Back on January 1st 2022 we reported that despite Pooh becoming now a public domain character,Disney will still use their own version of the character for future projects with a new project in the works for Disney+, it seems that project was this one

No showrunner,Artstyle, Disney TV Animation Division (Disney Television Animation,Disney Junior Educational Resource Group,Disney Europe Animation) and animation services production company was announced however more information could come on the next months specially during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival  

Back on 2015 popular Irish animation studio Cartoon Saloon pitched a Winnie Pooh Reboot to Disney with a  full animated pilot in hand, sadly in 2016 the pilot was passed, as much as we wish this new series of shorts is a revival of this idea, it seems that this willl be something different, probably done by Disney Television Animation, Disney Junior Educational Resource Group or Disney Europe Animation.

Disney Branded Television has ordered a new series of musical animated shorts of Winnie The Pooh for Disney Junior, the announcement was made today on Disney Junior Fun Fest by Disney Branded Television CEO Ayo Davis.

No animation division (Disney Television Animation,Disney Junior Educational Resource Group,Disney Europe Animation) showrunner or executive producers was announced as it seems that the project is very early on development however more information could come next months specially with the Disney Annecy Animation Film Festival slated for June.

As it’s working title suggests the show will be in the same vein as The Wonderful World Of Mickey Mouse with mini-musical stories from 3-4 to 6-7 minutes airing between commercials on Disney Junior AD Breaks.
