Donald Duck Rings in 90th Anniversary with New Hand-Drawn Animated Short "Donald Duck in D.I.Y. Duck"

Debuting on Disney+ as well as Walt Disney Animation Studios’ YouTube, Disney Channel, and Freeform, this short finds Donald trying his hand at some home repairs which begin with the replacement of a light bulb and quickly turn into a series of comic catastrophes.

His temper flares and his frustration grows as things spiral out of control and lead to an explosive finale.

Incoming Disney Legend and renowned animator Mark Henn wrote and directed D.I.Y. Duck as his last project before retiring from the company in December 2023. The short is produced by Emmy® Award-winner Dorothy McKim and was created by the hand-drawn animation team at Walt Disney Animation Studios. Jennifer Lee, Disney Animation’s chief creative officer, executive produced.

The short also pays tribute to Disney Legend Clarence “Ducky” Nash, who originated the voice of Donald for his first 50 years, and who delivers the character’s vocal gestures and assorted wise quacks by way of archival voice recordings.

Disney Television Animation X Walt Disney Imagineering Collaboration "San Fransokyo Square" Sets Opening Date, Confirms Big Hero 6 The Series Easter Eggs

After being promised at the recent D23 Expo, we are now getting an update from Walt Disney Imagineering, revealing that San Fransokyo Square is arriving at Disney California Adventure, August 31, 2023 as part of the 100 Years of Wonder at the Disneyland Resort.

The area will have some elements debuting in the month and a half as a lead-up.

During a PR Preview provided by Laughing Place, it was confirmed that the area will be featured with easter eggs from the various iterations of the Big Hero 6 story, including the Disney Television Animation's Big Hero 6 : The Series and Walt Disney Animation Studios Baymax! provided by both studios.

27 Classic Walt Disney Animation Studios Shorts To Be Added On Disney+ Trought July - October

Disney is finally opening up the vault to celebrate the Disney 100th celebrations, as Disney has announced that over 28 newly restored Walt Disney Animation Studios classic shorts will be coming soon to Disney+ around the world. 

Starting on July 7th a new collection of shorts, featuring such iconic stars as Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto, Chip n’ Dale, and the studio’s first star, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit will be released from July to October.

Disney has delayed the TIANA series once again, this time like Moana The Series, Disney has dropped the 2024 listing on the Walt Disney Animation Studios site.

As opposed to other series based on movies mostly provided by Disney TVA, Tiana and Moana The Series will be done at Walt Disney Animation Studios under the Vancouver division of the studio with a higher budget.

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit Stars in a New Walt Disney Animation Studios Short for Disney 100 Years of Wonder

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit returns to the studio that bears his creator’s name—Walt Disney Animation Studios—with an all-new animated short, more than 94 years since Disney’s last Oswald cartoon.

Created by Walt Disney Animation Studios hand-drawn animation team to help celebrate the start of Disney 100 Years of Wonder that marks 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company, the short—appropriately titled Oswald The Lucky Rabbit—is directed by animator Eric Goldberg and produced by Dorothy McKim.

“On the eve of Disney’s 100th anniversary, it was such a joy to create the first new Oswald short from our studio since 1928,” says McKim. “Our hand-drawn animation team—including our hand-drawn legends Mark Henn, Randy Haycock, and Eric Goldberg, as well our wonderful team of 2D apprentices—had a ball animating in the style of Oswald’s era.”

Goldberg adds. “Oswald is such a plucky scamp. We wanted to bring Oswald back, and in the short, he literally returns to his original home: the movie screen. We wanted to have Oswald do all of the ‘squash-and-stretch,’ ‘rubber hose’-animation style, celebrating that first generation of Walt Disney’s artists.”

In conjunction with the animated short, Disney launched an Oswald the Lucky Rabbit Snapchat lens worldwide that will allow users to channel Oswald using AR technology.

Bob Iger Returns As The Walt Disney Company CEO As Former CEO Bob Chapek Drops.

The Walt Disney Company announced today that Robert A. Iger is returning to lead Disney as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

Iger, who spent more than four decades at the Company, including 15 years as its CEO, has agreed to serve as Disney’s CEO for two years, with a mandate from the Board to set the strategic direction for renewed growth and to work closely with the Board in developing a successor to lead the Company at the completion of his term.

 Iger succeeds Bob Chapek, who has stepped down from his position.

Walt Disney Animation Studios Vancouver Delays Tiana To 2024 As Moana The Series Gets Removed From The Schedule.

Walt Disney Animation Studios Website has unveiled that Tiana has been delayed to 2024, however the site sadly mentions that Moana: The Series has been removed from it’s release schedule.

Tiana makes sense since they want to coincide with the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

Zootopia+ Details Unveiled at D23 Expo During The Disney Bundle Pavilion Panel

-The show is NOT a sequel series is actually a midquel series as the shorts focus on different characters during the timeline of the film.

- Each Episode is 8-10 minutes long, each episode interconnects with the timeline of the original film. Nick and Judy will appear in the shorts.

- Hopp on Board: Will follow Judy’s little sister “Molly” as she escapes and aboards the train that Judy takes to Zootopia at the beggining of the film aka the “Try Everything” sequence as Judy’s parents try to save Molly. “Hopp on Board” will follow a action-movie theme as the rest of the shorts will follow different movie genres.

-“Godfather of the Bride” will follow Mr Big on a Sopranos style parody following Fru Fru’s wedding from the film as his backstory gets explained.

- -Duke Weaselton’s episode will be a musical episode. 

 -“Dinner Rush” is a rom-com with Flash and Priscilla as they go on a romantic sloth date

- So You Think You Can Prance" follows the story of Chief Bogo and Officer Clawhauser on a game show to get the tickets of Gazelle’s Concert from the credits sequence of the film.
