Wouldn’t be a warners celebration without the warners themselves!
It’s even too crazy for Bug Bunny himself.
And that wasn’t even the most terrible thing to happen at the party
Tiny toons /w Warners
The Warner Siblings
Space Jam: A new Legacy | 2021
Siblings comforting each other
Them in 1950 children attire because I’m listening to oldies and got inspiration
Also, little idea then when dots ears aren’t up she has a tiny hair curl
I'm still on my "All The Adult Toons Basically Adopt The Warners" bullshit, so here's what I think they'd be like to their adoptive kiddos:
Bugs and Daffy: I love the concept of these two being like the rich, higher-up stars at Warner Bros. and I feel like because of that they'd be the Cool Parents.™ They would spoil the Warners with all their cool, big-shot toon privleges, and let fly around in private jets, have sleepovers at their mansions ect. I imagine if anybody ever questioned the Warners going in some place they would show up right behind them, flashing their I.D.s like "They're with us" and they'd just immediately have free reign.
Lola: I'm going with her characterization from The Looney Tunes Show here, just because I prefer it to the way she was in Space Jam. Lola radiates fun young mom energy to me. She'd probably do things like take the kids out to the mall and plan movie and game nights with them. She'd probably be the least responsible when it comes to serious parenting stuff, like oh the kids want to have ice cream for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? Alright, that's fine.
Slappy: We kind of already know how Slappy acts taking care of kids because of Skippy, and I feel like it would stay in that same vain of "Cool Sarcastic Wine Aunt." She'd probably be pretty protective of the kids too; It's on sight if anyone tries messing with them.
Pinky: Like Slappy, we already have an idea of what Pinky would be like with kids because of the episode with Romy. He'd absolutely dote on and smother them. He'd probably also be quicker than anyone else to defend them because in his eyes they are just precious angels who can do no wrong
Brain: Again we have the Romy episode for reference, so he'd be like the strict but still caring dad. Brain is also the "The Reason These Children Are Still Alive Parent." They all share a handful of braincells when it comes to the kids and he posseses all of them 90% of the time because "No, we are NOT letting them bungee jump off the water tower!" I think he would also be pretty proud of how smart the Warners are and impressed by what they've learned on their own (Yakko's Shakespeare knowledge, Yakko and Wakko's geography focused songs, Dot's interest in women's history, ect.)
I wanted to do a palette swap type of thing to see what the Warners would look like in each others’ colors! But just recoloring the same drawing wasn’t enough, so I added some variety to their clothes! I love how they all turned out, though the pinks ended up being my favorite UvU
For those who don’t know:
Tom Ruegger is the original creator of Animaniacs. He’s the guy you have to thank for the iconic characters Yakko, Wakko, and Dot (for whom the primary inspiration was his own three sons.) Among many others, including the equally popular Pinky and the Brain. He was also an involved writer/lyricist for the show and played a huge part in coming up with new song & story ideas.
Yet despite all of this, Tom was never asked back for the 2020 reboot. In fact, he wasn’t even aware that a reboot was in production until it was announced to the public. Although Tom has expressed plenty of interest in being involved in the reboot, WB/Hulu has repeatedly turned him away.
Tom’s oldest son, Nate Ruegger (voice of Skippy Squirrel,) has spoken out about this on his twitter:
“the naked greed on display here to reboot a series without involving any of the original creative team so they can make *more* money, & then joke about it, is gross.” (x)
And he’s absolutely right. Outside of the main voice cast, none of the original team was consulted for the reboot. Tom was/is an integral part of Animaniacs. Without him, the show would never have existed, let alone become a cultural phenomenon. It doesn’t seem right for him to be cut out of the revival of a show that he is largely responsible for bringing to life in the first place.
The mistreatment and blatant disrespect of creators by big-name companies is something I’ve seen way too much of lately, and even though this is far from the first time, that doesn’t make the practice in anyway right or okay.
I’ve seen petitions for this going around, but they rarely gain enough traction, so I’m taking a more direct approach:
I’m asking fans of the series - new & old alike, regardless of your opinion on the reboot itself - to please reblog this. Or, simply spread the hashtag #BringBackTomRuegger somewhere on your social media.
So that we can let the new showrunners know that we, the fans, want to see Tom brought back for future seasons!!!
I’m not asking for a full rewrite, I just want the man who created these characters to have some say in what happens to them, as he should. Please share to show support, if you agree!

★ In one of the new Animaniacs reboot episodes they bring all of the old cartoons out of retirement. You even get to see a glimpse of Babs Bunny and Buster Bunny in the crowd who are soon to make a comeback too.
Warner Bros. Animation have owned Hanna-Barbera since 1996. So all those characters belong to Warner Bros., and they make up for a majority of the original Animaniacs cast being removed from the series and some pushed to the background. Which is what will also happen in the Tiny Toon Adventures reboot. Elmyra Duff was the first to be announced prior to the reboot that she will not be present. Though Elmer Fudd who shoots animals to death, makes a cameo in this very Animaniacs episode reboot. Make it make sense.
Cameo appearances from other cartoons in the new Animaniacs reboot make up for half-removing Slappy the Squirrel and Skippy, Mindy and Buttons, Squit, Bobby, and Pesto, Dr. Scratchansniff, Minerva Mink, Katie Ka-Boom. Some may make later appearances or references as the series could get a season 2.
Hello Nurse and Minerva Mink have been removed from the series, because they promote sexism in this day and age. Not that anyone cares. But they want to tone that down now in media.
Minerva Mink no longer exists which means no more Julie Brown, talk about karma. Bye Julie Ann Brown don’t come back! 🧹Hello Nurse is referenced in episode 13 as joining Doctors Without Borders.
The Flintstones appear. Betty Rubble however seems to have a “grey” streak in her hair indicating her age. Tress Macneille and Grey DeLisle Griffin are major VO cast for Warner Bros., and they also voice both Wilma and Betty respectively for the Flintstones series. They don’t speak in the cameo. Fred, Barney, Pebbles and Bam-Bam also appear. Sylvester the Cat, Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, Tweety Bird, Penelope Pitstop among many others. Putting retired characters to use was a good idea. Porky Pig finishes up the episode with his iconic phrase altered.
This show reboot it interesting. Not funny to me, but interesting to watch. The Warners were said to have been resurrected from the dead, a joke that they had died in 1998. It was good to see them again. Hope to see Babs Bunny and Buster Bunny in the future. If not, oh well. 🤷♂️
