TriStar Pictures is developing a sequel to 1989′s Troop Beverly Hills with Oran Zegman directing. The script is written by Aeysha Carr with rewrites by Tamara Chestna.

Troop Beverly Hills followed a Beverly Hills parent trying to prove to her family that she could be a Wilderness Girls leader. The film was based off the life of Ava Fries.

This film made me the woman I am today. It has been my favorite movie since before I was born. It stars Shelley Long. Jenny Lewis plays her daughter. The cast features more than 20 girls and women. It is indulgent in girlhood and femininity and womanly frivolity.

The costuming was done by Theadora Van Runkle, who is referenced by name in the film.
