A gift
Say what you will about “filler episodes,” but the reason “I loaf you” hits the way it does is because you watched Really Small Problems.
And that’s kind of why it hits for King too. It tells him his dad really was watching over him. He didn’t just show up for the final conflict when things got too dangerous to handle. He was paying attention, even when King was just making silly jokes with his friends, even in those parts of his life that weren’t part of the fight with Belos.
No but Luz saying the "Good Witch" speech at the end without changing her name because she has come to actually love herself as she is means everything to me.
The fact that the original ending credits was Luz walking through the isles on her own, to find her family awaiting her at the Owl House...
And now the show ends with all of her friends and family traveling across the isles, to find and welcome her at the Owl House! Luz arriving, surprised and happy at the reception, even as someone who traveled all the way here runs over to their loved one! She found a home in everyone, and they found a home in Luz!
I love how much a parent the Titan is when we finally get to see him. Like, we obviously learn quickly that this Dad-bod, sweat pants look was clearly chosen to be comforting and to put Luz at ease. But he also makes Dad Jokes! And clearly brags about Kings looks in a light hearted way! Which are such silly parent things to do! And it doesn't take long for the Titan to show the serious parent aspect.
He picks up Luz when she starts sinking, lifts her with no effort really. Then mentions that despite being stuck in the In Between Realms that he can keep watching King. Which is one of the aspects of parenthood I'm sure they were looking forward too, watching King grow into adulthood.
The Titan understands what Luz is saying, gets it on a level not many would and sympathizes with that. Then also admits to those mistakes, and doesn't offer excuses for it! He's had a lot of time to reflect on all of it, maybe even a chance to see what truly happened and how much went wrong.
He does laugh when Luz asks if what they wanted/were willing to do makes them like Belos, but when when Luz shows how much it bothers her? No jokes, no humor, just a sincere explanation and understanding. And so many of the Titan's facial expressions show concern for Luz in these moments, because they've grown to care so much for her for what she's done for King.
And then ultimately they let Luz have a choice in the matter. The choice to be a hero, to be the one to stop Belos, and take the last of that strength. There's no pushing or anything, just encouragement and explaining his choice.
The Titan is just...such a good parent, who would've loved raising King. Who honestly just loves King so much, that he was willing to do anything, and probably loves Luz to some extent as well for being King's sister and shows it through out their conversation.
I wonder if in the boiling isles if a child's first spell, for the ones that can cast magic of course, is up there with like first steps and first words.
Cause Eda looks so proud and like she's having so much fun in this moment, which could be a teacher aspect of course! But it also happens after Eda had really started calling herself a mom. And if it is an important moment for the Isles then Eda got to experience it with both her kids!
She missed the first glyph Luz ever did, not her fault, of course, and she still gets to see the results. But she did see King's first shout powers, and got to help with Luz's first real spell circle!
Awojfie I'm just not going to be over this little found family.
Shout out to Raine Whispers who got thrown into all the crazy, and took it all like a champ, and just accepted that Eda's kids had some weird things going on and moved on from it with minimal questions.
Also what a way to learn that one of your paramour's children is the child of god after witnessing said god in a fashion.
You can recreate the same experience by not paying attention to the news for a week then looking it up!
WAA TOH FINALE WAS AMAZINGG!! Had to draw this design because it's so so cool ;w;
Clawthorne-Noceda family moments from Watching and Dreaming Part 2
I just finished watching the new Owl House episode, and afoiej so much to process, but like can I say how much I love this look?? The build up to it was so nice but it's all the little connections to Luz's family that is shown here that get me!
Like you can still so of course that Luz is human and she looks like Camila. That wouldn't change of course cause those are such a big part of who Luz is.
But you can see so much similar to King too! Fitting since it's a gift from the Titan. She has the bone claws and horns like King, plus the general skeleton look and similar color schemes. Plus her hat looks like his tail!
Then she has the same eye set up as Harpy Eda! With yellow eye iris and dark sclera. She also gets her own fang that hangs out the whole time, on the opposite side of Eda's, and hair probably big enough to store things in.
All of these people were a big influence on Luz and her journey to become the Good Witch Luz. It's only fitting that they all be represented some how in the strongest form Luz gets.
I’m so happy for hunter because he finally got to learn how to carve palisman and made his own and the fact it’s a bird again makes me so happy. He still misses flapjack dearly but seeing him happy and healing after everything is so beautiful
"THE FINAL WALTZ"
The Owl House Season 3 Finale:
"Watching and Dreaming"

This is a breathtaking work of art for Luz. I love the glyph cards fanned out like that and her pose. Incredible.
You know just thinking about Flapjack and his role in all of this. We start with Evelyn and Caleb. Belos flat out treats him like he is Evelyn.
He started out as Clawthorne palismen. Then made his way to Hunter, the grimwalker of his owner/owner's paramour. He was Hunter's palismen, friend, and confidant.
He hung around Luz before finding Hunter, and then lets Luz use him to try and save Hunter before taking matters into his own wings. He then saves Hunter's life and makes him something a bit more than just a grimwalker. He's a connection between the past, Belos/Caleb/Evelyn, and in a way the Clawthorne legacy. He gets used by the two kids that can carry that legacy, but are also making their own ways to their futures.
Luz carved Stringbean with Eda, a Clawthorne known for their palisman carving, and Stringbean has hatched and Luz has more confidence for her future.
Hunter clearly states he wants to learn how to carve palismen, perhaps a skill Caleb learned how to do. He started with an artificial staff, then Flapjack, an old palismen who adopted him, and now has access to magic all on his own. Hunter doesn't currently have a palismen, but he's got something else now. A chance to carve a new one, a chance to carve his own future and a teacher that will likely be very willing to help pass that skill on.
Flapjack's going to always be missed, but he's also helped to bring the past to the future and allowed these kids that have the spirit of his carver's family to have the chances to make their own.
THE OWL HOUSE SPOILER WARNING!!
So… I have a theory about these two.
People keep talking about how Flapjack and this yellow cardinal are both Caleb and Evelyn’s palismen. Some say yellow belonged to Caleb, and Flapjack belonged to Evelyn. Well, I think it’s the other way around in my opinion. For it was hinted at in “Thanks to Them” Flapjack was a gift to Caleb from Evelyn. So my proposal is this:
The yellow cardinal was Caleb’s gift to Evelyn. He made them as as either a “wedding proposal” gift (instead of a ring), or just as a thank you gift for her being so kind to him. Either way, if this is true, notice this:
Caleb was gold/yellow color coordinated.
The cardinal he gifted to Evelyn was yellow.
Evelyn was red color coordinated.
Flapjack is a red cardinal.
The two had palismen that reflected each other’s partner.
Caleb’s gift was a thank you to Evelyn for letting him be a witch.
Evelyn’s gift was to show how much she cared for him.
And to really hit the point home.
Cardinals mate for life.
The two were soulmates.
And their palismen reflected each other’s love for one another.
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.
