You remember when ...

Doug transferred from Nickelodeon to Disney

When Nigel Thornberry was knighted by the queen

When the Rugrats recruited Dil and Kimi into the cast

When the Rugrats grew up?

When SpongeBob did an epic musical number

When a new reboot shaped a new landscape in fandom?

What animated milestone moment do you remember most?

I wanted to talk about a channel that was pretty underrated which was the Hub Network. Now while it wasn’t as popular as Disney, Nick and Cartoon Network, it also had some pretty interesting programming at the time and definitely should have gotten more love.

Now this channel lasted from 2010 to 2014 and was later rebranded into Discovery Family

which is a major disappointment compared to what the Hub used to be.

While some shows like friendship is magic still existed on the channel, a lot of the other programming vanished and it’s now mostly just boring and educational which is upsetting, compared to the cool and interesting programming the hub had in its lineup.

Aside from MLP and Littlest Pet Shop, there were these shows like Dan Vs. that was pretty underrated and many people considered to be pretty good.

They even had Warner Brothers properties like Tiny Toons

Batman Beyond

And Batman the Animated Series to name a few

Literally this was the only channel you could watch them at the time as they aired nowhere else.

Basically, the Hub was a pretty underrated channel and had it gotten more love and attention it still might have existed today.

Thank you Lauren Faust for giving us 9 years, a whole decade nonetheless, of adventure, fun, heart, faith, kindness, magic, and especially, friendship. It really is telling that MLP is the last show left from The Hub’s run. From October 10, 2010 to now, its been a good ride, and I can’t wait to see what the next generation holds.

Every book has its ending, after all. Goodbye My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, to many, you will be missed.

Disney Channel

Do you ever get worried by the kind of sitcoms Disney has been flushing out lately? Like they are not attempting to try anymore and they are just recycling plots and trying too hard to be musical? It just makes me glad there is the HUB network with it's other live action shows and their much more sophisticated animated programs. It does make me wonder if the parents are boycotting Disney for the Hub though.
