The make up prom
When we last left off on The Great North, trouble has plagued Lone Moose. The episode started seriously enough when the light hearted theme song isn’t playing and we cut straight to the action. It’s a major banger reminiscent of The Wharf Horse 2 parter of Bob’s Burgers and The Bob’s Burgers Movie. Earthquakes have become quite frequent and there’s this mysterious smell no one can seem to pin point. However the local teens have other priorities that are more concerning for these young hormonal adolescents. Judy and Kima are concerned they won’t experience that magical prom moment like in that 16 moments song which was the theme they picked out for the dance which they are in charge of. Ham and Krispin want to become a gender neutral prom court which they were easily able to get thanks to the open minded principal. Judy and Kima had lost hope that they’ll find dates in time but thanks to Kima’s mother they were both able to be with their respective men of their dreams but do they have them mixed up? However things aren’t as neatly tied up as everything seems. Moon is still convinced the mystery behind the source of the smell isn’t solved. Because of his wilderness survival training, he’s able to detect an unusual gravy stench. With Beef his father being the only one to believe him they seek the local looney who has been speaking cryptic riddles to them. Turns out he used to work for a meat factory and he’s been paid to keep quiet. The riddles were his way of trying to get others to learn the truth but Beef and Moon were not getting the hints so he just outright tells them the truth about the smell. The company has been storing meat underneath Lone Moose for years, convinced the naturally chill weather will keep things cool but didn’t consider climate change catching up to them. Looney Louie told one more riddle regarding the location of the biggest storage bunker which Beef was able to solve, under the school. The prom was happening which makes for poor timing when the bunker finally gave out and the Grizzly/Polar hybrid bears come out to eat the spoils. It was so scary Ham, one of the more mellow characters on the show, actually screamed in panic. Beef called everyone from the smell committee to evacuate the students and the faculty but it was too late. It’s a race against the clock to free everyone trapped in the school where the pizzly bears are swarming the building and the second storage bunker underneath could blow at any moment. Will Ham step up as Prom President? Will Beef face the fact that he’ll have to move his family to a new home? And will Judy realize the perfect boy for her was underneath her nose and not over her head? Find out!
