Hurricane Dorian was bearing down on my state. We had some cancellations because of this, but I still was able to have seven friends attend and experience the magic of Steven Universe–themed food and an amazing movie!
The day before, I had my best friend and her daughter (who is also my friend) staying with me to help me with the festivities. Not only did they help me with some of the nuts and bolts of making the ridiculous Gem Harvest Cake….
…but we also made the ENTIRE “GEM HARVEST” MEAL and ate it together.
The next morning, we prepared the watermelon, ordered our square pizza (really the only thing we didn’t make in-house, besides store-bought chips), and BFF did the snack sushi for me.
I had two large televisions set up in my big living room so everyone would have plenty of room to comfortably watch the show.
The Cookie Cat Cooler was prepared.
The Fry Bits slow cooker was warmed up, and condiments were provided.
A Together Breakfast Assembly Bar was set up, with mini-waffles and instructions on how to put it together, for anyone who didn’t know the Proper Procedure.
Pop rocks were added to the Fire Salt donuts for maximum fizz.
And my pals gathered, gobbled the food, enjoyed the movie immensely, and even tolerated my silliness as I proceeded to download my preordered soundtrack and spam the party with it afterwards while we ate more junk.
It was incredible and I can’t imagine a better party (well, except perhaps without it happening during a weather emergency).

This will probably be my last post for the decade. A lot of things happened this year, huh? From laughs and surprises, to hellos and goodbyes, spectacular events and tragedies and so on. Honestly, this whole decade has been wild for me. I was 12 and in middle school when 2010 started, and to have all those years pass by seemingly so fast…Man, where does the time go? Soon, all the things I grew up with are gonna be 20+ years old and I’m not ready.
I obviously couldn’t put literally everything in here, but I did try to pick the most relevant things to me. Happy Holidays and have a Happy New Year everyone!
See you in the next decade.

She’s a Crystal gem now ! I kept the little pompon from pink’s design, because she showed in the song “let us adore you” that she kind of missed her still.
The Holy Trinity
With the release of the movie, I have seen an influx of hatred towards Pink/Rose.
And that irritates me.
Yes, what she did to Spinel is terrible. What she did to Spinel gave Spinel her own type of trauma.
But y'all seem to be forgetting about/ not caring about Pink's trauma.
Pink was abused. Pink was under high expectations, yet for the longest time was never given any chance to prove herself. When she misbehaved, she was locked in a dark tower and starved of light.
Just remembering what Steven said about Pink to Blue.
"How many times did you lock her in here? How many times did you make her cry?"
It doesn't excuse what happened between Pink and Spinel. But people have to remember her upbringing. Unlike Steven, she didn't have people encouraging her and holding her hand through things. And there were serious consequences for doing what she felt was right. That was the only thing she knew. Sure, her actions were childish and bratty. But I've seen so many people calling her evil. She's far from evil. She isn't good, either. She's created heroes and villains. I think so many people saw her as this perfect, wonderful being.

I am positive this line is Rose singing to Greg. Always have been. She knows she isn't perfect. She's made mistakes, and done things she didn't like. To write her off as a villain is ignorant. The greatest lesson from Steven Universe is that the world isn't as simple as black and white. Of course she would seem like the worst SU 'villain'. She's the only person we won't get a redemption for. She will never have the chance to make up for her mistakes, or fix her wrong doings. She will never have the chance to overcome her trauma, unlike Spinel. Whether or not due to her own actions, my point stands. There will always be gems like Spinel and White that get redemptions. Pink/Rose never will.
It should also be known that Pink was the ONLY diamond the treat other gems with respect. Pink worked towards freedom on Homeworld before she even knew it.
She lacked the ability to change like Steven did. Pink wasn't able to change because change was regarded as bad. Change made you imperfect. And to Pink, who was already imperfect, that wouldn't have help her in anyway.
But yeah, she's so evil.

Spinel is literally Mickey Mouse why are y'all comparing her to Bendy or Cuphead she’s literally a reference to the OG mouse! It’s ESPECIALLY prominent with her two hearts that NEVER change from frontal view to keep her silhouette, just like Mickey Mouse is designed!
No matter what angle she was at, it was always hearts, just like Mickey always has his ears as two circles!!
