WildBrainHQ has been confirmed to be involved with the new Netflix Sonic Cartoon.
For some Sonic fans, the name “WildBrainHQ” might sound familiar, and that’s because it is– they have been involved with Sonic Cartoons in the past. Most specifically, they own all 3 DiC Sonic Cartoons.
They even have their own Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel, where they publish episodes of the cartoons they were involved in, and own.

SONIC PRIME IS THE NEW SONIC NETFLIX CARTOON
Netflix has officially announced their new Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon, and details related to it. Check them out:
- The 24-episode animated adventure for kids, families, and long-time fans draws upon the keystones of the brand and features the “Blue Blur” of video game fame in a high-octane adventure where the fate of a new multiverse rests in his gloved hands. Sonic’s adventure is about more than a race to save the universe, it’s a journey of self-discovery and redemption.
- The series will be animated at WildBrain’s Vancouver studio, and SEGA and WildBrain will jointly participate across production, distribution and licensing. Man of Action Entertainment, creators of Ben 10 and the characters and team in the Academy Award-winning feature Big Hero 6, have been brought on as showrunners and Executive Producers for the series.
- Building on the momentum generated for Sonic in 2020 – and as the brand celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2021 – Sonic Prime aims to captivate the imaginations of audiences ages six to 11, as well as legacy Sonic fans of all ages, and will match the scale and scope of the epic adventures synonymous with the Sonic franchise. In 2020, the theatrical feature Sonic the Hedgehog, took the number one spot worldwide on opening weekend and remained on top globally for weeks while breaking domestic box office records. Producers SEGA Sammy and Paramount Pictures have announced a sequel to the feature is in development.

James Marsden Confirms he's Signed on for Multiple Sonic the Hedgehog Sequels
As the Sonic Movie shows to be a hit for Paramount, currently having 273 Million on the world wide box office, James Marsden has confirmed in a Podcast with Variety that he signed a contract to appear in ‘multiple sequels’ for the Sonic Movie.
“I believe, I don’t know if I’m supposed to say this,” Marsden said, when asked how many Sonic Movie sequels he would be willing to make: “As many as they want to make. Yeah, that’s my somewhat vague answer”
James Marsden also commented on the sucess of the Sonic Movie and how the crew reacted to it:
“It is such a good group of people and it was so much fun to see Jim [Carrey] enjoying himself again. I think this was his second-biggest opening weekend of all of his movies. I was kind of amazed at that statistic. He just had a big smile on his face and he was hugging everyone. It just felt like it was such a cool thing.”

SONIC MOVIE MAKES $57 MILLION IN NORTH AMERICA AND $100 MILLION GLOBALLY
The Sonic Movie continues strong in making money in the USA, with Variety confirming that the Sonic Movie has made $57 Million in North America so far, and is expected to have made $68 Million by Monday, making it the best opening weekend for a movie based on a video game IN HISTORY.
And in the rest of the world, the movie is also performing strongly, so far, the Sonic Movie has already made $100 Million! Returning its budget of $87 Million.
This makes a sequel very likely!
