Feels like when Matt Groening created Marge, his energy was “this is the mom,” and when Seth Macfarlane created Lois, Francine, etc., his energy was “this is the wife.”
Linda Belcher was created with “this is my friend who’s fun at parties” energy.
Ooh okay so,
The way I see it, while the Macfarlane wife characters have “hypothetical wife” energy, Peggy Hill has “actual wife that I’ve been married to for a while” energy.
This is all true. In the simpsons, Bart was intended to be the main character. (it changed) In King of the hill, HANK was intended to be the main character. I think Bobs Burgers is a true ensemble, the whole family has equal weight.
The Simpsons: Still For Family?
Even though it presents a lot of mature themes it is definetly a lot tamer then what Seth McFarlene would dish (or in his case dump) out but it is as tame as Bob's Burgers. What do you think?
