Okay... I watched Darkly Dawns the Duck last night and what is really interesting to me is the biggest distinction between OG Darkwing and dt17 Darkwing is the OG Darkwing's thing was he worked alone. His resistance to LP and Gosalyn at first, and culminating in DW in jail, Gos kidnapped and DW saying he doesn't have a friend in the world before LP literally crashes him out of jail.
Dt17 Drake doesn't have that issue, Fenton makes his gear and they clearly talk often, LP clearly got them in touch; LP and drake are friends and drake's hangup is that he isn't good enough to be a superhero as opposed to our OG DW being, hey I'm doing great stuff here and no one is watching me do it.
OG DW needed Gosalyn and LP to be a hero because he needed to be grounded. DT17 DW needs LP and Gosalyn to find the real heroic part of himself underneath the drama. Basically, OG needed to be Drake Mallard and dt17 needs to be Darkwing Duck.
