Is it just me or does this….

(Nightwing: The New Order #6)

…Have a sort of familiar aura and emotional core to….

(Batman #442; “A Lonely Place of Dying” Part 5)

…This?

Both Tim and Jake understand what Robin stands for and what it means for any sort of Batman in particular. Whether it’s the Caped Crusader Bruce himself or Head of the Crusaders Dick, at their lowest points, the darkness that permeates their souls can cloud their actions and the consequences that follow.

Robin in general serves to light the Duo’s conscience out of that darkness and be the heroes they are meant for being, individuals that average people can relate to and take inspiration , rather than self destructive tyrants that only create fear and mistrust.

….and it’s no wonder at this point why, in my more ideal yet utterly silly and self indulgent fan based versions of the DCU, I have Tim be the main teacher for Jake in the ways of being a superhero (besides the latter’s parents of course lol)

Yeah!! I love the idea of Dick and Tim mentoring Jake as Robin. Dick and Tim bring different aspects to Robin. While Dick was the light of Bruce's life, he was more of an independent worker. Bruce needed Dick as robin so he wouldn't lose himself to darkness. Tim realized the importance of that-he realized he needed to be the one to yank Bruce back up when he's brooding. So while Tim's robin was heavily focused on making sure Batman didn't lose control, and Dick's robin was about helping the people of the Gotham- which is why he created Robin in the first place.

Dick created Robin to help the people, and Tim became Robin to help Batman from going overboard. You can't have one without the other. They're both equally important aspects of being Robin.

With Tim and Dick as mentors and Kori teaching her son how to control his powers, Jake would become one of the greatest superheroes ever.

Honestly….

DC would never but I selfishly want a Marvel’s equivalent of “Ultimate Spiderman” with Nightwing.

Like give me a universe where Dick and Kori get married and raise a family (Mar’iand Jake) while juggling being parents and superheroes.

Like a Slice of life mixed with a compelling story arc.

Even if it was a mini run I’m just desperate for some Dickory content and potential family life!!! 😩

God I would love that to such and I'd buy every issue. I sometimes feel like DC is just allergic to making money they make choices that just seem lose them money than gain it. Honestly a world where Dick and Kory are married with their kids would do so well. People still love Dickkory and seeing them being a family with family struggles would be awesome to see and could really work. Just look at the Incredibles.

I'll still forever love you Dickkory! You're true soulmates 💙💜💙

I READ THAT BOOK FOR A DOLLAR XD

DC GIVE US THAT, WE BEG OF YOU

YES!

I give DC all the money in my account, tv, and PlayStation to read that!

Somebody make petitions about this!

And Now for a Grand Debate;

Skybird Vs Flamebird, which outfit is the better one??

Here’s Skybird

And…

Here’s Flamebird

Avatar

I feel like I'm betraying my roots but i must say....Flamebird outfit has my heart and seems more funny to paint

Avatar

Hmmm…..While Skybird similarly to your situation is near and dear to my heart and it still does, There’s a modicum of appropriate aesthetic should Jake be the Flamebird to Chris’ Nightwing

After all, the Kryptonian version of Flamebird (in actuality Jimmy Olsen) traditionally in the Silver Age of Comics was the partner to Nightwing (in actuality Clark Kent himself) and in modern times, the Nightwing and Flamebird entities of Kryptonian Myth are complimentary to each other, so why not carry on that tradition with Chris as Nightwing and Jake as Flamebird

Td;Lr Either one works really though thematically and aesthetically Jake as Flamebird makes a whole lot of sense

Agreed

I like both suits equally for both of their unique styles but I agree that the Flamebird one compliments Chris as Nightwing, especially since they're a team

It's also really fun to think about him evolving in his suits like this, like first 8 year old Jake becomes a little Robin who just wants to join his family in fighting crime and then when he becomes 10, he decides that maybe it's time to change it up a bit and creates his new hero persona "Skybird", a suit that's inspired by his Father's hero persona Nightwing

And after meeting Chris and becoming the brand new team "The Starburst duo" and being best friends with him for two years (he would be 12 years old by this time), he believes that it would a very cool idea if he were to take up the Flamebird hero persona for himself instead, since it would compliment his best friend Chris' Nightwing very well, especially since they're both partners in fighting crime together

well, I like the name Skybird better, because I have a big soft spot for Bette Kane who might have the best costumes of all time

I mean come on now, she is the moment.

but any ways, being constructive for a minute I do like the Flamebird costume better, something about the Skybird same color tights going into same color boots is throwing me off. The only thing I don't love on the Flamebird is I'd have the yellow V on his middle be more of a V and go up his chest, right now it's kinda giving the Flash going around his waist.

Two DC Comics Superhero Teams That I propose just for fun:

Titans of Tomorrow: (aka the Kingdom Come Titans)

- Nightstar (Mar’i Grayson, age 12, daughter and eldest child of Dick Grayson and Princess Koriand’r )

- Impulse ‘Bolt’ (Irey West, age 12, daughter of Wally West and Linda Park)

- Speedy III (Lian Harper, age 12 1/2, daughter and only child of Roy Harper and Jade Nguyen)

- Darkstar (Robert ‘Bobby’ Long-Troy, age 11, son and only child of Donna Troy and Terry Long)

- Aquagirl II (Tula, age 11 1/2, daughter and younger child of Garth and Dolphin)

Team StarKnights

- Skybird (Jake Grayson, age 10, son and youngest child of Dick Grayson and Koriand’r)

- Nightwing ‘Phantom’ (Christopher ‘Chris’ Kent, age 12, son and adopted middle child of Clark Kent and Lois Lane)

- Corvus (Jasper Logan, age 11, son and only child of Garfield Logan and Rachel Roth, created by @hains-mae and @fireflyxrebel-writes)

- Impulse ‘Charge’ (Jai West, age 12, son of Wally West and Linda Park)

- Red Kraken (Cerdian, age 13, son and eldest child of Garth and Dolphin)

NOTE: in this version, Cerdian becomes an older brother to Tula at the age of 2 1/2 years.

Reblog and/or reply if you have comments or questions regarding these two teams. It will be very appreciated

Obsessed with the way Dick is just-so good of a parent that kids love him so much that they’ll just abandon their real parent to go to him instead.

Damian: No need to explain

Rose: literally talks about how Nightwing is so special and cool and how she wants to spend more time with him (I’ll upload the panel when I remember the comic). I think Slade bombed Bludhaven because he was mad Dick turned Rose away from him. Emotionally and ethically.

Jon: Superman literally calls Dick over when his son is feeling sad because Dick understands the kid so well and Jon loves him just as much.

Lian: Dick was the only person she was closest to after Roy. He called her princess and she was his second parent since her mom was in jail and also just because he treated her that way.

Gotham kids: When Dick takes care of people, they instantly bond to him and show him a level of respect that is hard to come by.

His son, Jake. Jake is a special case and my favorite because Kori actually left Dick to do her own superhero thing so Dick raised Jake by himself, as a single parent, with the help of Alfred. The devotion and mothering/fathering he did for Jake was reciprocated by such a loyalty I felt compelled to make this post.

Attention DickKory Family/Flying Graysons 2.0 fans,

You think Dick ever told Mar’i and Jake about how right before moving into stately Wayne Manor with Bruce and Alfred, he was moved to a Youth Center/Juvenile Detention Center because supposedly there wasn’t enough room in Gotham’s orphanages; and in there, he faced a really unwelcome and hostile environment filled with delinquents and bullies whom he had to fight off against and he later tried escaping?

If yes, how do you think the kids would’ve responded to that little bit of their Dad’s history?

I think they'd be so sad that their dad was there. Especially depending on how young they are because "Detention" and "Juvie" are for bad kids. And their dad would never be a bad kid! Their dad is the best person in the world! (Along with their Mom)

They'd also give their dad lots of hugs

That sounds just about accurate

Dick insists that he’s perfectly fine now since at least Bruce and Alfred got him out of there like they promised and he was able to find his peace with it.

But the hugs are appreciated @confusedhummingbird
