FORGET ABOUT EVERYTHING- THESE TWO ARE CANON AND HAVE A CHILD
Who says there can’t be interspecies love?
Today the Department of Unexpected Interspecies Friendship is going hiking gorgeous Colorado landscapes with Henry the dog and Baloo the cat. Both adopted from animals shelters, they live with humans, Cynthia Bennett and her boyfriend, who are avid hikers. Even as a 14-week-old puppy, Henry immediately wanted to join in on their hikes.
“I think we only had him for three days when we took him on our first hike, which was to Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs,” Bennett said. “He found the steepest, tallest rock around, and he ran up to the top of it to look over the edge.”
Baloo joined the family just a few months ago and immediately bonded with Henry.
The moment Baloo met Henry, he loved him — he wanted to play with Henry and snuggle with him. Not only that, but Baloo refused to be left behind when Henry went out for a hike.“If I touch Henry’s leash, [Baloo] will start screaming at the door,” Bennett said. “He’s very vocal.”
Since Baloo was so eager to go outside with Henry, Bennett set about harness training him, but Baloo immediately took to being outdoors and on a leash and now he goes anywhere Henry goes. All their adventures are shared.
“He’s definitely not the kind of cat we can leave home alone on the weekend anymore,” she added. “I think he thinks he’s more a dog than anything.”
Follow Henry and Baloo on Instagram to keep up with their latest outdoor adventures together.
“They dined on mince, and slices of quince, Which they ate with a runcible spoon; And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand, They danced by the light of the moon…”
The Department of Unexpected Interspecies Friendship is seriously considering setting up a permanent satellite office in Japan. Their latest discovery is an inseparable pair made up of one Scottish Fold Kitten named Marimo and a Little Owl named Fuku. That’s right friends, these two are the makings of a real-life version of “The Owl and the Pussycat.”
This adorable pair live together at Hukulou Coffee, an owl-themed cafe in Osaka, Japan, along with a few more owls and sometimes a bunny friend too. They hang out on perches together looking cute as can be. But the best times are the cuddly shared naps and goodnight kisses:
Head over to the Hukulou Coffee Twitter feed for more photos of this awesomely sweet pair of furred and feathered friends.

Today the Department of Unexpected Interspecies Friendship is celebrating the bond between a basset hound named Lady and her numerous sheep friends on Michael Jobson’s farm in Gamlingay, Cambridgeshire, UK.
Herding isn’t the first skill that comes to mind when thinking about basset hounds, but these sheep are so enamored with Lady that she’s a sheepdoggo without even knowing it. Her ovine friends will follow Lady anywhere, whether or not she’s aware that they’re doing so:
Lady and the sheep have such a strong bond that Jobson and his partner, Fiona Morton, plan to have Lady assist their actual full-time sheepdog, whose name is Tom. What a good doggo.

A lion and a miniature sausage dog have formed an unlikely friendship after the little dog took the king of the jungle under his wing as a cub. Bonedigger, a five-year old male lion, and Milo, a seven-year old Dachshund, are so close that Milo helps the lion clean his teeth after dinner. The 500lbs lion dwarfs little Milo, yet after the dog took the disabled lion into his protection as a cub, Bonedigger has rarely left his side.
Like something out of a Disney movie! It should become a movie!
