Nothing special is just a pet peeve of mine as opposed to Amphibia,DuckTales 2017,The Mitchells Vs The Machines,Inside Job and The Owl House who had the majority of the GF staff on development and S1, BCG had more people from C.H Greenblatt’s Harvey Beaks on development and S1….. as Greenblatt’s Harvey Beaks also assembled the team what will lead BCG.
Also beacuse Greenblatt deserves more credit to this new era of Disney Channel musical episodic comedies series starting with BCG and now leading to Primos and more to get revealed (Monica Ray,Raj Brueggemann,Cheyenne Curtis,Amy Hudkins and Greenblatt’s Disney Shows)
Who could have guessed that a show about a country family became the next big Disney Channel hit since Star Vs The Forces Of Evil.
The unexpected hit that the The Greens where to Disney took them by surprise as the series beated three IP driven franchises (DuckTales,Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure,Big Hero 6 The Series) which Disney thought those three will carry Disney Channel Animation after the ending of Gravity Falls.
Additionaly Big City Greens recently it has become the print for future Disney Channel shows as its veteran crew members are having now their own chances to make their own shows(Natasha Kline’s Primos slated for 2023 and four original comedies on early development at Disney Channel by Cheyenne Curtis,Monica Ray,Raj Brueggemann and Amy Hudkins).
With the Greens making major changes in Season 3 and preparing for both a fourth season and an original movie-musical, it was the perfect time for Animation Magazine to catch up with series co-creator, executive producer and voice of Cricket, Chris Houghton, who teased us mercilessly about what’s next for Cricket and co.

Just to set the record straight, this background character in Delivernator was the brainchild of a wonderful Make-A-Wish kid. She's a big fan of Big City Greens and came up with a detailed description of her character (named "Alex") which we happily designed and included in the show. We also recorded a short skit of Cricket and Tilly meeting Alex (which was voiced by the Make-A-Wish kid!) It was a lot of fun.
"Alex" certainly borrows elements from Mabel Pines, but I don't mind. We were thrilled to turn a special kid's wish into reality. 💚

Big City Greens has been renewed for a fourth season ahead of the Season 3 Premiere who debuts February 12th on Disney Channel, the show has been described as Disney Channel’s No #1 Hit Animated Series since it’s debut on 2018 beating the likes of DuckTales 2017, Big Hero 6 The Series, Amphibia, The Owl House and The Ghost And Molly McGee.
