Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Across the Spiderverse and now Nimona having to go against each other for best animated feature feels like a crime against humanity and the arts, what a banging year for animation my god
I still want MORE MOVIES THO >:3
Crazy how some of the best animated movies of the year didn't even come from Disney or Dreamworks, y'know, the two companies famous for their animated films.
When left alone, and with no corporate interference, various species of artists and writers are able to flourish and establish unique, diverse, and creative ecosystems that then allow for fresh new ideas to bloom and be done well. Showing the reliance of the human desire to create with passion and soul. Thus, nature can, and will heal.
Hey you come back immediately
Sure. Spiderman media and the fanworks that follow are a prayer for good fortune, the quality and quantity of that media having a direct impact on how much good is done. Thank you spiderman
Yeah ill adopt this into my belief system
In that case can we provide new seasons for all the Spiderman cartoons that ended in cliffhangers to bring in more fortune?
"Brooklyn Visions: Telling YOU Your STORY"
I love how virtually every part of Miles' life reiterates to him that his life should only go a certain way. That he can't change destiny, that he can't save everyone, that he's better off following others, no matter how misguided or righteous they may be, that sacrifices are the lifeblood of Spider-Man. That his story is ultimately not his to control.
And as the movie progresses, he flips the script and takes control of his own destiny.
Isn't that what being a Spider-Man is all about?
I’m absolutely loving that from what we can tell, the theme of the movie is the theme of loss and choice intertwining.
All these Spiderpeople, they have to make the choice of the multiverse over their loved ones and morals.
Is it sacrifice or is it destiny? Is it a sacrifice to lose all their loved ones or is it destiny because they wouldn’t have become a hero without that loss?
How far are they will to go to save the multiverse? Should let their loved ones die at the cost of the multiverse being saved?
It’s the choice of “saving one person or saving everyone” which is an amazing callback to the line, “You can’t think about saving the whole world. You have to think about saving one person.”
And it’s also a choice about morals. How far are they willing to go? How far are Miguel, Jessica, and Peter. B willing to go for their kids? Will they kill, will they let others die so the future have a choice in their destiny?
And compared to Miles, who is apart of the next generation, is being told no over and over again. That his story is already been written, that he can’t save his loved ones, and that he must lose himself in order to save the multiverse. And Miles responds with a resounding no. He was bitten by a spider from another universe, a spider that was not meant to be in his universe. He is the representation of choice, surrounded by a web of destiny and Miles is gonna do it his own way.
