Obviously I couldn’t put all of them due to the 10 options limit, but I highly doubt that a lot of people would vote for Shnookums and Meat or The Mighty Ducks.

For me, the most entertaining show with equal amounts of humor and angst, and character driven plot, was Darkwing Duck. It was my absolute favorite show as a kid, and I still remember the plots for almost all 91 episodes. Meanwhile I watched Ducktales, Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, Talespin etc reruns just as often and bought the dvds for them and I barely remember the plot of two episodes. I don’t know why DWD was memorable and the others weren’t. They are all good shows. But DWD is easily more watchable for me now than the aforementioned. I’m too sensitized to Chip’s squeaky voice to stand watching CDRR anymore. Ducktales 87 is nostalgic but Omg the stereotypes against women, neurodivergence, non American ethnicities, etc makes it painful to watch now. I was used to all those stereotypes as a kid and didn’t even notice them but now the fat shaming and infantilizing of the girl character is triggering for me personally. Thankfully the other Disney Afternoon shows do not suffer like Ducktales 87, and Ducktales 2017 booted those issues to the curb.

Gargoyles was a bit too mature for me when it aired. I couldn’t keep up with the lore, and I saw episodes run out of sequence. Not as badly as with DWD (I remember seeing the episode “Just Us Justice Ducks” and wondering who over half the cast was!) but I do remember being confused when I saw an ep with a grown child of one of the main characters and I had no idea they had even met. Gargoyles would be more watchable for me now but since I don’t have Disney + and I did not buy the dvds, I haven’t gotten caught up on it yet. I personally voted DWD because I have rewatched it all and love about forty of the ninety one episodes, but I don’t mind if Gargoyles wins the poll. It’s another Disney gem that stood out from the crowd and stands the test of time. It also has a new ongoing comic series, just like Darkwing Duck (and Lion King, too, I think) right now.
