Honk Honk, 90s kids will remember the hit animated series Doug originally premiering on Nickelodeon for four seasons as the first NickToon which later was acquired by Disney for 3 new season and a feature film.

Since 1999, Disney hasn't done anything with the Doug IP however that might change with a sequel series being all the rage, Disney is looking to do something with Doug Funnie and the gang after 24 years.

The concept right now is a potential sequel series of Doug and Patti Mayonnaise getting married with their own kids as the show will now focus on Doug’s kids, the series tentatively titled Doug Kids. The concept is still in early development so we likely won’t be hearing much from for awhile.

"Doug Kids" joins Disney TVA's recent reboot lineup with "DuckTales 2017", "The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder" Point Grey Pictures "Darkwing Duck", "Sofia The First: Royal Prep Academy" & "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse 2.0" with recent reports of potential "Recess", "Kim Possible" & "TaleSpin" reboots/revivals on development at early 2023.

RUMOR: Recess Revival/Reboot In Development At Disney Television Animation For Disney+

Coming off the fresh of Phineas And Ferb getting a revival with two new seasons and Kim Possible rumored to have a revival film, it seems that the next Disney TVA property to come back will be the gang at Third Street Elementary School located in Arkansas as Disney might plan a revival/reboot of the beloved late 90s and early 2000s series Recess with og creators Paul Germain and Joe Ansolabehere on board.

In a Interview with Slasher Film, Joe Ansolabehere revealed that since 2019, Disney has been in talks with them for a potential comeback of the show with the developing process taking place since 2020.

As for “Recess,” the show may be coming back sooner or later. After both “Rugrats” and “Hey Arnold” were brought back to our screens, Ansolabehere confirms there have been talks about a “Recess” reboot, and he’s been developing it with Paul Germain the last couple of years. We’ve come up with several different angles and we’ve tried different things. It’s been four years that we’ve been working on it, Ansolabehere said. “But that’s an example of how things have changed … things are slower.” No matter how long it takes, however, this is exciting news for any kid who grew up watching cartoons in the early ‘00s.

If Greenlight the “Recess” revival will join fellow legacy Disney Television Animation IPs in returning to our screens to get a revival/reboot to a new generation with the IPs being “The Proud Family” with “The Proud Family Louder And Prouder”, “Phineas And Ferb” with a Season 5 & Season 6 renewal,”Sofia The First” with a new spin-off series under the working title of “Royal Prep Academy”,”Darkwing Duck” with a new series from Point Grey Pictures with also having early but very early talks of a potential “TaleSpin” reboot and “Kim Possible” with a potential revival/reunion film as backdoor to a new sequel series.

Seth Rogen Provides Small Update On Darkwing Duck Reboot

During an Interview about The Boys with the A.V Club Seth Rogen was asked about that personal touch part of what you decide to pursue alongside the projects that Point Grey has achieved, Rogen talked about future stuff that he’s proud of and what it feels to reboot some old 80s properties that he loved as a kid including Darkwing Duck.

AVC: I wanted to ask about your producing, given that you have so many projects in development. How much is that personal touch part of what you decide to pursue?
SR: Yeah, we really do try. Even The Boys, which I don’t have a ton to do with on a day-to-day basis. Like the reason that show exists is because me and Evan went to a comic book store, saw the comic, picked it up, bought it, read it, loved it. And then spent the next decade trying to make it! But it was purely borne out of, like, an afternoon we spent together, you know? And so it’s all borne out of our interests. Ninja Turtles is something I loved as a kid. We have a lot more things like that that we’re working on, this Darkwing Duck show and things like that. That becomes a fun part of the challenge: How do you infuse more and more of yourself into your work? I think the more of yourself you put in, the more people like it.

Darkwing Duck Reboot Adds Original DW Creator: Tad Stones As Creative Consultant.

It’s been ages since we heard something about the upcoming Darkwing Duck Reboot, we where expecting some news about it on the 30th Anniversary of the og show on September 6 and Disney+ Day but nothing.

However since then many people have spoken about it’s status like The Ghost And Molly McGee co-creator and original Darkwing Duck writter Bob Roth mentioning “we are aware of the reboot but we are too busy on Molly McGee to work on it” and later Jim Cummings on a convention on September mentioning that “he hasn’t been called” for the reboot and hints on the Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers Movie Poster on Disney+ Day.

However recently on the What’s In My Head Podcast, a podcast interviewing animation industry people like Craig McCracken and Sabrina Alberghetti etc.., Tad Stones the creator of the OG Darkwing Duck was invited, check the whole podcast to get a inside look at Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers and Darkwing Duck days from the begginings of Disney TVA.

However in the Interview, the question about the reboot was asked with Tad Stones mentioning that “he is doing creative consultant job on the reboot despite his retirement”

1:09:46 - 1:09:56

Welp we could probably get news on the reboot probably this Thursday since its the 31 anniversary of the Darkwing Duck  “sneak preview on Disney Channel” or probably on May the month where the Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers debuts.

The Darkwing Duck Reboot has Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg as executive producers and the project is produced via Point Grey Pictures and Disney Television Animation.

RUMOR: NEW ANIMATED WINNIE POOH PROJECT ON DEVELOPMENT AT DISNEY+

Today the original novel of Winnie The Pooh by A.A Milne became public domain however the reality is that Disney has losed its exclusivity on the character, this means that other companies like Netflix, Paramount, Nickelodeon, Warner Bros, Cartoon Network, Sony Pictures Animation or Dreamworks can make their own versions of Winnie The Pooh but with some tricks behind Disney’s copyright policy

Our friends at DisnInsider who really have reported well some news on Marvel,Star Wars,Disney,Disney Channel Sitcoms, DCOMS and Pixar have revealed on their explanation on How Winnie The Pooh Becoming Public Domain didn’t actually affected Disney, unveiled that a project featuring the lovable bear was in early development on Disney+.

It’s very obvious that this project is animated since Winnie Pooh has been more know for animation than live action, this will be the first TV animated Winnie Pooh Project in 15 years since Playhouse Disney My Friends Tigger And Pooh

Back on 2015 popular Irish animation studio Cartoon Saloon pitched a Winnie Pooh Reboot to Disney with a  full animated pilot in hand, sadly in 2016 the pilot was passed, as much as we wish this new project for Disney+ is a revival of this idea, it seems that this willl be something different, probably done by Disney Television Animation or Disney Europe Animation.

On Winnie Pooh becoming Public Domain well… Disney would keep their own creations from the Hundred Acre Woods BUT Studios will not be able to use Tigger in their works though. Milne created Tigger in 1928 but is still under Disney ownership for a few more years. Disney owns the copyright for their Winnie The Pooh so any adaptations born out of the book entering the public domain can not closely resemble those in the Magic Kingdom.

Characters and setting created exclusively by Disney cannot be used as well, including Gopher or Kessie for example, as they where created for Disney’s TV Shows and not featured in the original book.

Oswald The Lucky Rabbit The Series Never Came To Production Past The Pilot According To Series Showrunner Matt Danner.

Over the past 3 years we have been reporting about a Oswald The Lucky Rabbit Series for Disney+, however as time went on and conventions,Investor stuff or special Disney events (D23 2019,Disney Investor Day 2019 & 2020, Disney+ Day) came no more updates on the show where given

As time went on many things happen, the production studio behind the show and Legend Of The Three Caballeros, Disney Digital Network shut down and we speculated that the show was in a similar situation like Villainous and High Guardian Spice as the show was completed but it needed a release.

Well in the Morning, Oswald The Lucky Rabbit Series Showrunner and EP Matt Danner revealed on a QRT of Cartoon Brew talking about how Iger saved Oswald,

He talked that during the development of Disney+ a Oswald The Lucky Rabbit TV show pitch was commisioned by Disney themselves and sadly it never passed beyond the pilot process despite having finished scripts and many animation tests from different studios to showcase, the show was axed before the show even got a pilot

Danner mentions that despite all of this, Oswald is still loved on The Walt Disney Corporation but still is kinda sad that a project like this was shut down without showcasing it’s full potential…

Disney+  Teases Darkwing Duck Reboot News for 2022

Disney+ provides a clue about the status of the highly anticipated Darkwing Duck reboot who tomorrow it celebrates one year of being announced.

During a Disney+ Day announcement for the live-action/animated Chip ‘n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers movie, a script for Darkwing Duck could be spotted in the background that read, “Production Draft 2022.” and in other page  it says “Darkwing Duck” & in the yellow post-note it says “DWD Reboot Call”

The Reboot is set to be executive produced by Seth Rogen and his company Point Grey Pictures in association with Disney Television Animation.

It shouldn’t be to surprising to see this since Seth Rogen has a cameo on the Chip “N” Dale Rescue Rangers film, probably during that film a joke about the reboot will be made.

A update of the reboot was hinted when The Ghost And Molly McGee creator Bob Roth mentioned on his Twitter “We Are Aware Of The Reboot” when asked if he and Bill Motz could writte a episode since both worked on the original Darkwing Duck show.
