I want more of Obi-Wan seeing BAIL in Leia, more of Obi-Wan recognizing the friend who RAISED HER in Leia, more of Obi-Wan seeing her passion in politics and righteousness of speech and seeing how much of an Organa she's become, the Organa she CHOSE TO BE.

Have Obi-Wan maybe see how passionate she is in the Senate and his first instinct is "like Anakin" but then he listens a little more and realizes, "No. Like BAIL." Because it's a very different kind of passion, a different way of seeing the world. I want Obi-Wan to be listening to her and hear turns of phrase he's HEARD Bail use before, to realize that she's speaking in a more distinctly Alderaanian way she could only have learned from Bail and Breha. I want him to hear her say something and realize that he's heard Bail use that exact tone of voice before when HE made speeches to the Senate.

She might seem similar to Anakin at first glance, perhaps, but it doesn't take much to realize that it's not Anakin's passion she's channeling at all, but BAIL'S. And I want that to bring him peace and comfort because Anakin's passion brought him to his own doom and darkness, Anakin's passion destroyed the galaxy, but Bail Organa's passion has kept him in the light and is one of the sole barriers between the galaxy and falling into complete and utter ruin.

hmm….thinking about how Bail says “help us, General Kenobi, you’re our only hope” in the TCW episode Cat and Mouse and how, since Leia says almost exactly the same thing in ANH, it almost implies that this became sort of a family meme phrase in the Organa household? something that Bail says when he’s trying to fix their speeder, or Breha says when Leia gets old enough that she’s climbing up every piece of furniture in the house, or teenaged Leia whispers without even thinking about it when she just can’t figure out a new concept in her lessons. nice to think that Obi-Wan has this kind of presence in a place he’s never even resided, like some sort of benevolent household spirit

ok though obi-wan would fucking love this if he ever found out. he’d feel so honored.

Happy May the 4th to the mother and father of the Rebelion, cuz after all their importance they're still highly underrated

As much as Star Wars has overplayed the “get character from other Star Wars movie/show into this show as well” card, I do think Bail Organa should have been in Andor, his absence was very strongly felt, given that he’s part of the Rebellion, to the point that he was in Rogue One even! I think you can justify it by a big point being that they were isolating Mon Mothma, making her feel very alone and hunted, that they’ll probably bring him in next season, when both characters are getting closer and closer to openly fighting the Empire. But five years away from ANH, it felt like Bail really should have been a presence in the senatorial scenes, even if we’re focusing on Mon, they were friendly towards each other in Episode III, they were both part of the Delegation of 2000!  Jimmy Smitts has already come back to Star Wars this year! Even if they couldn’t get him full time for this one, at least a brief glance or Mon considering turning to him for help or mentioning why she couldn’t! There’s a danger in trying to draw too many connections, they feel like shiny distractions instead of points of reference, but Bail Organa was part of the story at this point already, the lack of even mentioning his name was more distracting for me than if they’d at least referenced him somehow.

Bail Organa is a normal-as-heck senator that looked at the flaming ruins of the space wizard hangout and went “I should go check this out to make sure everything’s ok.”

He’s a guy who saw one of the young students there get gunned down and went “I should go find what survivors I can.”

He’s the guy who dropped off Yoda to go try to assassinate the Emperor and picked him up when it failed and everyone was looking for Yoda.

He’s the guy who gave sanctuary to the only two Jedi he could find and the two Jedi that would be the highest of the Emperor and Vader’s list.

He’s the guy who watched one of his closest friends die after giving birth the children of the second most dangerous/evil guy in the galaxy, and began making arrangements for the children’s safety.

He’s the guy that took the daughter of the mass-murdering sorcerer who ruined the galaxy and decided to put himself and everything he held dear at risk to raise her as his daughter, give her a loving home.

He’s the guy that taught his daughter, who has the genes of the most powerful Jedi that’s ever lived, to channel her passions into righteous causes and the aid of others.

He’s the guy that started the Rebellion before there was even an Empire and who constantly put himself, his family, and his people at risk so that people across the galaxy could continue to fight against tyranny.

Bail Organa is too good for any of us.

Istg it's always so aggravating when people are like "oh leia is so brave and rebellious, etc." and then go "she obviously got that from Anakin!" Like no, she didn't, she got her courageous and kind personality from Bail and Breha, not some dude she didn't even know her whole life. She wasn't raised by him, and she literally denounced him when she found out she was his daughter. He stood by as her actual parents (yea, actual parents, the ones who cared for and raised her) were killed. Anakin was not her father aside from their biological ties, and Leia didn't inherit any personality traits from him (which isn't even possible btw).

In Legends, Leia meets Anakin's ghost and rejects him, and tells him to leave, and that she'd never forgive him. And the fanbase is like "oh that's so sad she should've forgave him, Luke did"
