5 Ways You Can #PinkOutTheVote!
With just days left to go, we’re looking for volunteers to help get their friends and neighbors out to vote. Wherever you live in the country, sign up to volunteer to help us build the pink wave to stop Trump’s agenda. It doesn’t get any bigger than the 2018 midterms: health care, the ability to access care at Planned Parenthood health centers, our basic human rights and freedoms — it’s all on the line. In the 2016 election, nearly half of the country didn’t vote. Some of them are probably your friends, neighbors, family. Maybe they thought “what’s the worst that can happen?” or “does this really matter?” It does!
Hearing from someone they know and love (that’s you) is the most effective way to persuade a reluctant voter to cast their ballot on November 6.
Planned Parenthood Votes’ goal is to get 100,000 people to make a voting plan today. The only surefire way to make sure we win — up and down the ballot, from small towns to big cities — is by making sure EVERY person we know votes.
We can’t afford to lose. Let’s come together and #PinkOutTheVote to protect our health and rights. Here are the top five actions you can take right now, from anywhere, to do just that.
1. Text five friends right now asking them to pledge to vote.
Tell your friends (and everyone you know!) to text “VOTE” to 22422. Planned Parenthood Votes will send them a text to help them make a simple plan to vote.
They’ll also get a reminder on Election Day!
2. Get loud on social media!
First, add the Planned Parenthood Votes frame to your Facebook profile picture.
Then, share these posts on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Use the hashtag #PinkOutTheVote and be sure to tag five friends!
3. Join the Planned Parenthood Votes our “Get Out the Vote” team.
With just days left to go, we’re looking for volunteers to help get their friends and neighbors out to vote. Wherever you live in the country, sign up to volunteer to help us build the pink wave to stop Trump’s agenda.
4. Print, color, and send a “Get Out the Vote” postcard!
Planned Parenthood Action Fund has put together a fun postcard you can share online, hand out in person, or mail to your friends. It's coloring-book style, so you can personalize each print out with your own artistic hand!
5. Find events in your area to get your neighbors to the polls.
To win this election, it’s all hands on deck — and that means joining with local activists in your community. Search for nearby events in your area to get out the vote in the final days before November 6.
Bonus: Join Planned Parenthood Votes’ Digital Town Hall on Tuesday, October 30!
On Tuesday, October 30, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, call into the Planned Parenthood Votes tele-town hall, along with our friends from the National LGBTQ Task Force. You’ll join thousands of people to hear from Planned Parenthood Votes leaders and partners about why this election is so important — and what you can do to make sure we WIN!
Why These Actions Are So Important
None of us want to wake up post-Election Day with a sinking feeling in the pits of our stomach, knowing we could have done more. To win this election, it’s all hands on deck.
Whatever you choose to do, the important thing is to act. The clock is ticking, and it’s time to give it our all. So join us in helping Pink Out the Vote. Together, we can take back our power.
