My humble opinion: all existing Transformers media after G1 is fanfiction.
Every new generation of Transformers is basically one person sitting at their desk and making up their own stories about already existing characters.
So. I think we should appreciate fanfic authors a lot more because they're doing the same work as that person but for free.
