A kinder mother would sure seek her sons, even if it was her who abandoned them.

(Just a Thought of Marika in ragged clothes and covered in veil, unfortunately didn’t hide her grace, descending down to the shunning ground she made to cage her rage and grief from the time long past, just to see her sons who she refused to hold and look at their births. The twins would have given her so much love for choosing them over the Greater Will— things would have been so different.

Marika choosing to love and protect her Omen babies is such an interesting concept to explore.

I love them so much.... they deserved so much better than this.

I also love the headcanon that Godfrey never would have left his sons in the sewers, he would have raised them himself regardless of being Omens if it weren't for being exiled. Maybe Marika literally forbade him from taking them with him, actively preventing him? She cares for Messmer, likely her first cursed child, to a certain degree, enough to actually raise him herself but didn't even try with Morgott and Mohg.

She just chucked them into the sewers as soon as they could walk and focused on Messmer and her precious Golden Order.

Godfrey was a good dad. I bet he would have taken his goat babies with him.
