A week from today, I will be deleting this blog. I just cannot deal with another four years of this. If you send me a message within a week, I will provide you with my e-mail if you wish to stay in touch with me.

Im so sorry, everyone. Even though we've only talked online, our friendships have meant the world to me. They will always mean the world to me, but I have a feeling the best thing for my mental state is close this blog. I know you will understand. I'm so sorry.

Update!

I have decided that I'm not deleting this blog, but I am abandoning it for something else.

There are a number of reasons why.

First, I want to share that I've actually been thinking of either abandoning or deleting this blog since before the election. This has been off and on throughout the past four years. As some of you know, I had/have a stalker, and there's a chance they might be hovering this blog. It's always been a source of unease for me.

But I also need a fresh start to do something new with something I think I'm good at that ALSO could maybe help people. Even though I already write a lot about media literacy, I want to change my presence here to one that is like a teacher. There is so much misinformation out there and so many people buy into it, and we're all hurting as a result. So, I want to make a new blog that will hopefully attract at least some people who could grow and learn from it. I'm not expecting to perform miracles, but maybe I could help people to grow their minds. Higher education is expensive and people are being failed by the state of our public education, but maybe I can offer people a little bit of what they're missing for free.

So, I will be creating a new blog apart from this one and spend my free time sharing my analyses on books, television, and film. I think understanding media we are exposed to and how to properly analyze it is an essential skill to have, especially now. It's never just a book. It's never just a TV show. It's never just a movie. It is always a reflection of the world we live in even if it's not always obvious to the audience, and we should pay attention to what is being said in these stories and how they may shape our ideas.

So, I will be working on this new blog and checking back on this blog for any messages from those of you who are interested and wish to share what I'm doing to anyone who may benefit from it.

I am energized. I have big ideas. Stay tuned!

Hi, all...I don't want to make a 'go out and vote' post.

But I do want to make a post letting people know that we need to be prepared for another "January 6th" that is possibly worse than the one we already had.

However, I just went on a run and just had my breakfast and there's a few other things I need to do, so I will be adding to this later.

I'll go ahead and start this now.

First off, I am not a political scientist or expert. You can take this prediction with a grain of salt. I can only go off of the vibes of a 30-something that has lived through a couple of elections in her short life:

I'm about 85% sure Kamala Harris is going to win. She has already gained a lot of momentum in her first week and has gained a lot of support from the grassroots and is likely to get more. That's a good sign. I wouldn't say this is on the same level as the enthusiasm that was surrounding Obama, but it's closer to that than Biden or Hillary Clinton's campaigns were.

Now, here's the bad news--Trump is planning on trying to cheat and he has a lot of support in the polling offices:

Now, here's the good news--There is a lot of Democrat leadership in these states, so if any of these officials try to interfere with election results, they are likely to receive push back and fail. I don't see a lot of these efforts gaining enough traction to reach the SCOTUS who would be very likely to rule in Trump's favor.

But here is the bad news--even if the efforts of these polling officials fail, they will succeed in riling people up with doubt about the election results, which makes another incident like what we saw in January 2021 *very* likely.

I just wanted to do my part, even if it's small, to make people aware of what might come. It's likely about to get very dangerous out there in November through January, especially if you are a person of one or more marginalization. Take the proper precautions to keep you and your loved ones safe. This is going to get messy.
