i love talking about my character(s). i love making silly little headcanon posts and writing multiple paragraphs to analyze the smallest topics. i love coming up with different ideas and concepts and developing their dynamics with other characters. so send me random questions that prompt me to talk about my character(s). give me things to talk about, from silly, mostly irrelevant things to important character moments to random scenarios they find themselves in. just give me a reason to talk more about my character(s).

your writing does not have to be perfect! no matter if you keep it simple or use lots of prose, whether you prefer more dialogue or more descriptions, or if your sentences have few or many words, it doesn't need to be a literary masterpiece. do what feels right for you. do whatever you enjoy the most, and don't stress yourself too much about it because chances are, there will be people who like your writing regardless.

you're allowed to say 'no' to things. if you don't want to write or plot or ship with me, that's okay. maybe you're not interested, maybe you just don't feel like it right now — whatever reason you may have, you don't need to explain yourself or make up any excuses. just tell me straight up if that's the case; i promise i won't be mad at you. and should you change your mind in the future, that's great. if not, that's great, too. just don't ever feel obligated to agree to something you maybe don't want to do just because you're afraid of hurting my feelings over it.

be proud of your original characters. it's no easy task to create a character from scratch, to make them believable and real and human. it takes time. it takes dedication. so what if they aren't perfect right away? so what if there are still things you're only now figuring out after time? characters evolve, they go through changes and arcs and stories just like real people do. and it's okay if your character develops over time, you don't need to have it all figured out right away. there are some things that will only ever clear up after writing them for a while, finding their voice, and seeing the way they interact with other characters. but this is your character, your creation, and you deserve to feel proud about it no matter what.

you can message me if you're waiting for a reply! sometimes, i may have just forgotten about it either because life got busy, i lost it in my drafts, or tumblr never even gave me a notification for it in the first place. there are many reasons why something might've gone wrong, and i don't mind you asking me kindly about it. as long as you're not pestering or pressuring me to reply, it's alright to check in to make sure i haven't forgotten about it.

it's okay if you aren't writing right now. it's okay not to be online. it's okay to take breaks. this is a hobby, not a job, and you should spend your time however you want to, not how others may want you to. don't stress yourself over not being around enough; it doesn't matter if you take days, weeks, or even months — it's okay to do things the way it works best for you. and if that means taking longer to reply, then so be it. people are usually far more understanding than we give them credit for.

you are enough. there's only one you and there will always be people who will love you just for you who are. you will have your own personal spin on a character, have them be influenced by your own thoughts and experiences, and breathe life into them in a way that no one else can. and that alone is something to feel proud of because that is something no one can take from you.

do what makes you happy, not what you think would make others happy. want to make a new blog even though you haven't been active on your current one(s)? do it. want to reply to one thread immediately ― even though others have been sitting in your drafts way longer ― because it's the only one you currently have muse for? do it. want to reblog another meme despite your inbox being full of unanswered ones already? do it. want to take some time off to focus on other stuff? do it. no one but you can tell you what to do; if it's something you want, just go for it. this is your blog and your decision on how you want to handle things. because at the end of the day, it matters only that you're happy with it, not what others may think about it.

friendly reminder to do the things you love because no matter if it fails or not, at least you'll know you tried. the muse you always wanted to write but never did because you are afraid of getting their characterization right? do it. that one graphic you always wanted to make despite feeling like your abilities aren't good enough? do it. that one person you always admired from afar but are too scared to interact with? do it. it might not always work out the way you planned, and maybe you'll end up realizing it isn't anything at all like you hoped for but don't let your insecurities get in the way of you doing what you want to do.

it’s okay if you struggle. it’s okay if you don’t feel like writing today. it’s okay if you take breaks. it’s okay if you don’t want to talk to others. your mental well-being is always more important than your activity here and you don’t owe anyone an explanation if you don’t want to give one.
