The Fairy dropped her shimmering garment, drew back the branches, and a moment after was hidden within their depths.
An illustration by Edmund Dulac for the fairy-tale, The Garden of Paradise. This is probably my favourite Dulac illustration - the ‘shimmering garment’ is so beautifully executed, it’s breath-taking.
