Yoko Ono’s 5th studio album was released on 8 June 1981.
Released less than 6 months after the murder of John Lennon, Ono was told by the record company that stores would refuse to carry the album with a photograph of Lennon’s bloody glasses on the cover. “I didn’t understand it. Why? They said it was in bad taste… . his body was taken away, and the pair of glasses were the only thing I had managed to salvage… . ‘I’m not changing the cover. This is what John is now,’ I said.”
The album peaked at #49 in the US, her best-performing album to date.
