In 2017, Charles was killed after breaching a TSA security checkpoint at the Honolulu International Airport. Charles had run through the checkpoint, and was tackled by two Island Air employees and a private Securitas officer.
He was pinned down on his stomach for approximately three minutes before they noticed that he was unconscious. Despite attempts at CPR, Charles was pronounced dead prior to making it to the hospital. He was unarmed at the scene.
Though his death was officially ruled a homicide, the Kosi family never received any form of autopsy report and the people involved in the homicide were never identified. (Honolulu, HI)

On August 23rd, 2020, Jacob was helping break up a fight when Kenosha Police officers arrived on the scene, drew their weapons and tasered him. As he was walking away to check on his children in his car, officers pulled him backwards and shot him in the back multiple times, at point blank range. His three sons in the car were only a few feet away. Jacob was taken to the hospital in critical condition. As of 2020/8/24 he is in the ICU. (Kenosha, WI)
