Second photo of my #scienceandfiction series. My worldview has been shaped by books more than anything, so I thought it only appropriate to choose the eye for this. Novels, plays, comics, manga, textbooks, have all shaped how I analyse and enjoy media.

The detail on this one was more than anything I'd ever done before and I learned a lot of new techniques while experimenting.

Maybe I'll work on my own watermark next ^__^ and let me know what your favorite books are in the comments

Just finished the second photo of my Science(&)Fiction series. BOOKS! I'm having a lot of fun drawing and sacrificing my eyes to the art gods.

Next week we go back to once a week (hopefully) analyses! I've queued up a few over the last month and I have quite a lot to discuss about The Midnight Gospel. So stay tuned :D

Have a concept in my bones. Here we go; here we go.

So a huge part of why I disappeared of tumblr to get my life back together was that everything I did felt mediocre. Writing, research, drawing, music, reading, math, all the things people told me I was good at, I suddenly felt I couldn't deliver on, and the disappointment in myself was overwhelming. I went back to traditional art, which was really the only art I felt comfortable doing. And I'm rather glad with what I came up with. It looks enough like the subject that I needed to digitally darken her face to a degree she would be comfortable with my posting it. This was a few days ago, and I'm really glad I was able to work through my block before the year had ended. To all those who waited and were wonderfully patient with me, thank you.

I haven’t felt this light in a long time.

I’ve been listening to Sia’s Rainbow on repeat for a few days now, and I really wanted to draw something that had a rainbow thing going on.

[On the bright side, I think my sketching has improved, but I definitely should not be trusted with colours HAHA.]

Tomorrow we return to regularly scheduled analyses :D

I tried a different style of lettering for this calligraphy thing. And I used paint pens for the first time! I had Jules's quote from Pulp Fiction stuck in my head so I decided to put it down.

I really want to learn how to do calligraphy. I’m hoping self-taught and a lot of practice will get me there. >.<

In the throes of finals week and I am... teaching myself how to write? 

I’m not even sure this is passable calligraphy because it’s wildly inconsistent but I want to learn!!

（I know it’s late, and believe me I was rushing to get it done on time, but I’m also not the best person at art and take an eternity. So, sorry for that.）

I would like you to know how inspiring you are, especially when it comes to standing your ground and not taking disrespect from anyone. The clarity of your analyses coupled with your creativity and boundless curiosity all together wouldn’t be able to capture the amazing person you are.

So Happy Birthday, Clockie! I hope you have the best year yet!

I regret to say there might not be a text post today because I spent the better part of the night/early morning trying to draw. It's rather terrible, but I'm happy with my first try. :) And if for some reason you found this interesting, there's more where that came from; this is only part of a bigger project I'm working on. While that happens, we resume with our usual programming tomorrow. Have a wonderful day everyone! :D

Thanks to everyone who helped me out and let me talk to them earlier. I’m feeling a lot better now and want to start responding to asks again. Also I made this turtle. I know it’s not SU-related, but turtles help me de-stress. And whales. I love giant flying whales. That’s another story though. I’m really okay now :)

I’m a work in progress.

I’m back! And this morning was awful. For those expecting something then, I honestly was supposed to post, but I didn’t have network connection for some reason. First day you’re free and not having Internet is terrible, by the way. So I started drawing Lapis (for a change).

I was playing around with styles to get a crayon/wax-resist effect, the kind I used to do when I was younger. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, all things considered. :)

Also, I forgot to make the canvas transparent from the start, but I rather like that my work is on white for once.

TFW you’re crawling to the weekend and just decide to not.

I tried my hand at drawing! Just a quick Peridoodle. I know I’m not the greatest artist, and this is way rough, but I’m counting on art being just universal enough to get this message across XD

I apparently made it on transparent, and by experimentation, it looks pretty decent on a black background!
