lol, it’s entirely possible

sentence fic: 'Sam can't sleep.'
Does not need to sleep, is how he thinks of it. The few nights he spends alone he fills with long, languid jogs, steadily marking time between then and now, there and here, anguish and silence.
True physiologically, and certainly for the best given the circumstances, but the fact remains that his mind and body clip along consciously and inexorably, and even if he wants to, Sam can’t sleep. He chooses not to wonder why.
So do you.

Is there any chance do you think that the show is...
There's definitely a good chance; I don't see any reason to think the show is going to let him off the hook. But yeah, the car specifically is a mixed symbol, because Dean uses the car as an expression of himself, and specifically of the image he wants people to have of him? Fixing the car seems like more of his "it's embarrassing" acknowledgement of the damage done to the Myth of Dean Winchester than actual moral regret. But in context it could work, so I'm keeping an open mind.
the-megalosaurus replied to your post “very slight 200th episode pre-thoughts”
There was an interview with TV guide where Jared mentioned that the show will include some 'Sam and Dean stereotypes', which I found VERY intriguing (could be good or bad I guess)
tbh, he and Ackles have said so many gross things about SamnDean that the only thing that worries me from either of them is unqualified excitement, so I'll take neutral as a good sign for now.

I am really interested if the show will take this...
Yeah, agreed that there's reason for cautious optimism, particularly since they've been so good thus far about not letting the Gadreel thing go. I just will feel better after I've seen it, and at least know roughly what fandom grossness we'll have to tackle next, hahaha.
the-megalosaurus replied to your post “this is what I mean about Sam “hate” not being the problem: I would...”
yeah it's the uncomfortable undercurrent of 'anything less than everything you can possibly give is insufficient'
and this is the bar now? this is what fandom's going to expect from him next time he "abandons" Dean by getting pumpkin pie instead of apple or whatever the fuck?
I mean, I have 0 quarrel with it from a narrative perspective? but this is a particular kind of grossness which I think we need to be more ready to deal with than garden-variety "hate."

i KNOW!
I'm astounded by his skills. Horrified for Sam, but in stunned AWE of his interpersonal abilities.
the-megalosaurus replied to your post “did you guys know that antipopes used to be a thing”
I really want that word to be pronounced like 'antipodes'. 'antipopees'.
ahahaha!

Antipapess?
AGREEABLE. though apparently the Latin word was "antipapa" which is also suitably misandrist.
