This week on Undercover Boss: the Composer of the Reaper's Game goes undercover as a player to find out if his staff are competent
Filmed before a live studio audience
I know this how it went with Week 2 in the 1st game.
But Joshua, why are going undercover as a Player? Shouldn't you be undercover as a Support/Harrier/Officer Reaper?
for those who are hellbent on believing Neku hates Joshua:
1. Neku lowered his gun AFTER discovering who Joshua is and what he did to him
2. "See you there?"
3. Joshua's presence stabilized Neku's soul at the most crucial moment
4. Neku exhibited no hostility towards Joshua after everything (when he definitely could have)
What do you mean this isn't what happened 😶
I saw someone saying how all the Joshuas are all written different, and I think I agree. Game Josh is teasing and smug, with an undercurrent of coldness and what's really going on with him, that's sometimes shown. KH Joshua is, like, the nicer version of that. Anime Joshua is the darker, more uncaring side of it. And Another Day Joshua has his gayness hilighged (as all the characters have one of their traits exaggerated in this AU), and feels like Joshua 1 putting on an act and having some fun, because thats exactly what he IS doing.
It's just interesting how different writers will glean something else from a character (though I think game Joshua and Another Day Joshua were written by the same person, of course).
I was about the say, don’t forget about A New Day Joshua, Or should I say “Yoshiya."
But thinking about it, it make me wonder if “Yoshiya” is the one that’s closes to his true personally.
Oh. I just realized something… the fact that Joshua can touch Neku in the anime is proof that he is dead. Because if he really was alive, he would reach right through Neku.
Really, there was only a small chance that he was alive. So makes sense.
Kariya was just wrong when he assumed Joshua was still alive, then. It was just his Composer powers making him so powerful.
Or Joshua is astral projection.
But that just one theory really.
I get that y’all are sad about tin pin slammer being gone but is no one gonna talk about how they got rid of my boy’s cellphone attack
So it all Telekinesis, or Does Joshua conjure those objects?
Something else really brilliant that I only just realized by watching the anime.
The Taboo Noise can only really be beat when you sync up with your partner and attack. Not only for the narrative are they more difficult to beat, but it forces Joshua to actively try to sync with Neku too, thus making him form some kind of actual connection to Neku. He can’t just passively pair himself and go about the week. The Taboo Noise are making both of them connect to each other (at least on some level, energy wise.)
And even if Joshua is suspicious and annoying, it’s an active reason for Neku to get along with him. Even if you, the player, don’t like Joshua, the game will certainly make you figure out how to use him in fights. Bc you must do so in order to fight the Taboo Noise.
Now I like to think that was Mr Hanekoma intent for the Taboo Noise in the 1st please. To get Joshua to do his job, actually bond with his Proxy, and in this case changed his mind on erasing Shibuya.
My other favorite thing???
I mean...he did do that, much to the detriment of literally everyone.
You lazy God!
Beat is a Riku Parallel
- They both lose somebody close to them that they feel guilty about treating poorly, and end up joining the wrong side in order to fix it:
- Beat pushes Rhyme away right up until the day they died, and tries to make it up to her in the Game, but he ultimately fails to protect her, and joins the Reapers in order to save her.
- Riku and Kairi’s friendship has always been rocky because of Sora, but when her heart is lost, he joins Maleficent in order to save her.
- They both sacrifice themselves for another close person’s sake:
- Beat throws himself in front of Neku in order to shield him from a potentially fatal attack.
- Riku stays on the other side of the DTD in order to protect Sora (and the rest of the world) from the darkness within.
- Their biggest desires are to protect the things that matter:
- Beat claims he doesn’t have a dream, but his desire to protect “the one person who matters” is very likely the “strongest dream of all” that Joshua references.
- Riku states from a young age that he wants to “protect the things that matter, like [his] friends,” which is carried throughout the games to the point where [[[[[RE:MIND SPOILERS]]]]] he’s told that his literal dreams are the key to finding Sora. [[[[[END SPOILERS]]]]]
- They keep fUCKING LOSING SOMEONE CLOSE TO THEM:
- At the end of A New Day, Neku is shot and then disappears right in front of Beat.
- Sora’s just fucking gone.
At least someone get it! Gods, why do people think that Joshua and Riku are Parallel?!
I think when Joshua said “[Neku] serves his purpose, I don’t need him.”
I don’t just think that Joshua doesn’t Love him no matter what the Fanon said about him. But that he really need don’t Neku anymore. He serves his role as the Proxy of his fate of Shibuya game.
If anything that mean he does care about Neku as a Person then a Proxy. And he did show up to try and stop Coco from taking him into the Reaper Game again. Now that does seem like that Joshua do love Neku if he would had care and save him. But One; Joshua make it seem he was gonna shot him again, And Two and Three; Shiki did call to check on him, worry over him and Beat was the only one that came to the drying Neku.
And four; Mr Sanae Hanekoma was the one that doing the hard word of freeing Neku and Beat from that fake Shibuya. Joshua didn’t even implant his fake self. He just show up and was ready to shoot Coco who was ready to attack Neku behind him.
If anything, Joshua doesn’t want Neku to be part of his business anymore, he would most likely try to get Neku out of UG if that mean Neku playing a Reaper Game or agent a two rogue Reapers that is holding Neku hostis.
You know there no denying that Joshua is Light.
In metaway, the one you can’t stand to look at, like looking into the sun, that can’t be good for you!
Joshua
I guess it saying something that josh doesn’t do well in being a God. Almost as if he just a kid that playing God with actually godhood... Oh!
You know if Joshua is Neku’s DBF?
Then how come does he not recognise him? I mean hello! You dead best friend is playing the Reaper Game, you had no joy and worry over him? Just annoy and suspicious. Aren’t you and him meant to be equals friends? I mean heck you only putting up with for because of you new friend, Shiki life is at stake.
I can guess that Joshua took the memory of him from Neku head, just as he did with the memory of his dearth. But doesn’t explained why Blue doesn’t outright recognise our Joshua and Pink as his best friend.
Yeah, I don’t see it. It find that your HC that Joshua is Neku DBF. I just want to point it out. Also I may as well say that I could see Joshua and Neku in a Affectionate Lover (Philia, Friends) at least if Joshua actually visit him and the other.
If Joshua’s entry fee In the reapers game were Nekus memories of him specifically (or their friendship) it could works. He’s composer in both realities after all.
You know, that could work, I mean, Neku would be even more shock that he best friend just came back and was ready killed him. I mean we aren’t sure what Neku was thinking in that flashback that Joshua give him. And he already took most of his memorise so why not.
Even as for the big game with Megs it could work. But still, we never know. But does seem like Neku never knew him before he kill him. I wouldn’t mind if I’m wrong.
