I get the feeling that the one of the reason why people assumed that Sans can remember those thing before the reset is because like Flowey, he too judged you in your run.
You’d 1st met him after you left the ruins, just like you 1st met Flowey in the start of the game.
Both of them are Hard End Boss. Heck Flowey have two boss mode, Photoshop Flowey and Asriel Dreemurr. Where Sans is your endgame boss at the last corridor in Geno Run.
But the thing is, flowey outright know, he remember, he have the power to SAVE before. Photoshop Flowey get easy for you to beat him, And Asriel Dreemurr make it impossible to lose, you have to win.
Sans on the other hand. Doesn’t get easy, he actually try his best to make you lose the game. From attacking 1st with a powerful attack, give a unknown element the Karma to you, outright move out of the way of you attack, kill you when you spear him (Implying that he think there death was the only way to reset), having his attack over the you turn, distracted you with shortcut and having multiple attack in one turn. Oh and also deny you a turn in the end.
With all that, it clear that despite his best efforts, he was a boss that you shouldn’t won agent. Where Flowey, you should win agent and the game back you up on that.
