Implying the First Doctor wasn’t the original problematic fave if you actually watched it. Like… he tried to bash a caveman’s skull in with a rock in his second adventure and kinda married off Susan.

Seriously, I’m glad Twice Upon A Time didn’t ignore how the First Doctor use to be written as a product of the time and made it part of his characterization contrast with Twelve.

I mean, yeah, he made more sexist jokes, but he did a ton of sexist and other kinds of problematic actions in his run. I love him, and am kind of annoyed that Moffat didn’t do a different interpretation, but pretending that the character wasn’t sexist at all is kind of denying some of his actions.

Plus, the contrast with Twelve shows how the character has developed. I personally relate to it because GOD KNOWS I’ve done some cringe-worthy crap back in the day.
