Yes, the last few months I have (blessed you with my) been relatively silent, but this is due to my work taking over my life.
However, the once a year gathering of Montreal nerds has been my call since its opening and therefore I follow it’s siren call of last minute artwork (still no con table for me either sob so I can’t tell you where to fine me), but we will be hosting not ONE but TWO persona panels!
Panel 1: Persona World will be all about the games themselves with some history behind them, (and hopefully some videos and music if I can get them working and ready in time I mean uh YEAH). The panel will be on Saturday from 8:00pm-9:30pm
Panel 2: I AM THOU will be a more in-depth look at the characters because last year we ran out of time when talking about them. Did you know Kanji loves Hawaiian quilts? Naoto builds her own computers? Junpei has a piece of clothing that says F*ck New York (he tried to be cool)? That Jun crossdresses and is prettier than most girls (well that one is not much of a stretch ANYWAY) All this and more! Saturday 10:00PM +11:30pm
As with the previous years, it will come with an intro video so GET HYPE!
Persona 5; the first time since the original game in 1996 where it at least looks like the protagonist is wearing the school outfit the correct way.
Was amazing! I met so many wonderful people and artists I was blown away. The Persona panel was great even if we ran out of time. 90 minutes and we managed to get to Teddie before we had to stop.
I hope to see you all in 2015, but meanwhile, I'll be posting something in a few days for all your persona tumblr artists!

So if you were here yesterday, you might have seen a video I made for the Persona panel at Otakuthon, the anime convention in Montreal.
I felt it wasn't good enough, so I fixed A LOT of timing issues, added 50% more Philemon narration (also cleaned up his voice so you don't hear the background music), and overall did a general change of pace to make everything fit in nicely.
If you end up going to Otakuthon, come drop on by for 90 minutes of Persona! (PERSONA!!!)
I was sick all day and unable to do anything else but since we got the good news that we'll be hosting the Persona Panel at this year's Otakuthon, an anime festival in Montreal, I ended up spending most of my day just working on an introduction video for the 90 minute panel.
I ended up picking P2EP PSP's intro song and spliced it all up with Persona of all things. Hopefully it looks somewhat slick and cool enough to get people pumped about it.
Sorry about the watermark, I've discovered some people were reposting some out the translations Iyo and I and literally removing the watermarks so I'd rather put that no the video. Obviously the one at the con will be bigger and not have it, haha.

OKAY since there is a ~~big announcement~~ coming from Atlus this weekend in a few short days, I thought we could turn this into a sort of fun little raffle and guessing game.

Since you're sharing club pages and stuff--Do you happen to have stuff on Yukino, or Ayase, or both?? Ayase in particular sort of drops off the face of the earth after Persona 2, and I remember her ending in P1 and all but! +_+
Sure let me tell you about Ayase’s sad future because you can never be happy in these games (see Mark crushing on Maki and Nanjo witnessing the death of his butler-dad first-hand)
"I think Ayase’s a cute girl. During high school even if she says some stupid things, the boys would still pamper her, but as she gets older they will stop paying attention to her.
That sort of thing feels very severe and cruel.
I wanted Ayase to have that part. She wants to live the now to its fullest, but the action is going in the wrong way. So I’ve thought of an image of a girl who lives in a short-lived manner.
Ayase’s lifestyle is definitely going to Shibuya and go karaokeing with friends, take purikura pictures, and check on her cellphone during karaokeing and have meaningless conversations and tell herself to put in more spirit.”
As a side note, keep in mind this was written in 1997, so she would have this type of cellphone.

So if you've read my tumblr before, you have have seen a post talking about how Kandori in Persona 2 EP had been working on research involving creating fake persona users which very possibly lead to Strega.
I always really liked Kandori as a Persona antagonist because he's intelligent, rich, president of a large company branch, an asshole, the type of guy you think has everything others could ever want, Elly called him a "storybook villain" and it makes sense: he appears to be larger than life. He manages to build a giant machine that can distort reality and uses it to attain godhood. Then when you get to face him, you realize he's actually pathetic and Nanjo gets to deliver the biggest verbal slam on him and it's incredibly satisfying.
