Some thoughts on Force-healing on both sides of the Force:

When you think about it, Force-healing (and indeed any kind of magical healing) is at once a very natural and a profoundly unnatural thing. On one hand, it’s returning a body to its natural, working order. On the other, it’s reaching into someone’s body and controlling the flesh, regenerating so many cells out of nothing that it’s almost a bending of reality.

And I feel like this would influence the underlying philosophies of Light Side and Dark Side healing. To a Light Side healer, Force-healing is a warm, soothing hand, urging all the damaged parts to settle back into the way they used to be. It’s a gentle nudge to the body, right at the cellular level, speeding up the natural healing processes a thousandfold. Light Side healing is an act of undoing - reversing damage, taking away the broken and jagged parts until everything’s whole again.

Dark Side healers look at it differently. Regrowing torn organs, mending cut flesh, regenerating cells - all of that should be impossible. So they’ll damn well do the impossible. They’ll twist reality itself to bring their patients back. A Sith healer’s touch is as warm as a Jedi’s, but it’s a different kind of heat, it’s that burning ache you get when you care for someone so much that it hurts. A Sith healer’s touch is a fierce passion that forces your body back together,.

That kind of passion only comes with complete conviction in what you’re doing.  So Sith healers need to really, really care about their healing - whether that’s just ‘I care about myself/my cause so I need my allies in working order to support me’ or ‘I love this person and refuse to lose them.’ The more you care, the better you heal.

I’m not sure how this might affect their abilities in practice - possibly Light Side healers can more easily heal minor injuries and illnesses, because those are simple to remove from the body, while Dark Side healers find it harder to get worked up enough about such things to heal them. No headaches, backaches and colds if you have a Jedi healer handy. Dark Side healing, though, would probably be faster, and better at healing massive injuries that people should rightly die of - because a Dark Side healer refuses to hear that anything is impossible.

Any thoughts on Quinn's "I'm a deadly shot" line on Balmorra? :3

Hmm…. I think Mara’s reaction was, “prove it”. Obviously he’s good as her tactical backup, but she’d not seen him fight yet. (And honestly, when I first heard the line, I thought it was possible he was just being arrogant.)

But then of course he later on fires three shots and three enemies drop with neat smoking holes between the eyes and Mara’s just like….

“My lord, where are you going?”“To start at least six other fights, let’s go.”“But the mission is complete.”“Is it though?”

I don’t know *why* Quinn’s impeccable aim is such a turn on and yet. Here we are.

Quinn focusing on anything is hot. A target, an enemy, just sitting down with his datapad reading, at a computer terminal, flying the ship … it’s a wonder the poor boy can get anything done with how mad he drives his SW!

So true!

He has learned the fine art of working while being spooned/clung to/randomly kissed/being otherwise attached to the SW.

^^^ If he didn’t learn, nothing would ever get done! If he does need both hands, he learns just as quickly to leave the SW a well-fucked, blissed out puddle in their bed.

The SW knows when he’s anticipating a particularly intense workday because the morning sex is completely off the chain.

For fairness, Rozalija has instated a rotation for cooking duties. That way, no one person is ever stuck doing all the cooking (sorry Toovee, you’re better at cleaning than you are in the kitchen).

Except that after a while, Rozalija realises it hasn’t been her turn in quite some time. So she confronts Quinn about it, as he’s the guy in charge of all the scheduling, so what gives?

He tries to give some excuses about how oftentimes she’s away on business on her turns, or that she works so hard he feels she deserves a break from menial tasks, etc, but she’s adamant on the truth, and he finally gives in and tells her:

She’s quite possibly the worst cook ever, and no one likes her cooking. No one. Not even the droid. Nobody wanted to tell her and hurt her feelings.

Rozalija is crushed. Feeling quite terrible, Quinn offers to have them double up on their respective days so that he can teach her how to properly cook (which, really, he should have done from the start).

Ok I love this so much and want to add to it. \o/ (generic ones lol)

Vector saves her as "Agent". He knows her real name, but refuses to risk her cover. She has him saved as her "Bug Boy".

Quinn saves her as "My Lord". She saves him as "Hubby". He hates it, but it still makes him smile.
